Re: UCLA?
So another thing I just noticed. According to the link the maximum interest rate that UCLA LRAP covers is 8.25% but the Grad PLUS loans are set at 8.5%.....wtf?beef wellington wrote:That's how I read them.Torvon wrote:If I'm reading the LRAPs correctly (and there is a really good chance I'm not) then UCLA has a "soft-cap" of $55,000 at which point there is a 35% contribution rate up to $80,000. From what I can tell GULC's "soft-cap" is at $75,000. What am I reading wrong?tallboone wrote:UCLA now has almost the exact same LRAP as Georgetown. So does UC Berkeley.los blancos wrote: Depends on the alternatives I suppose. I for one would not consider UCLA at sticker, but I can definitely see why others would. I don't think it's a bad investment per se.

Re: UCLA?
Yeah, these emails were for the Need Access Grant which is a separate form, much like the FAFSA (but much more annoying). There's info about it in the admit packet.turkishangora wrote:Are the grants separate from the merit stuff ppl hear over the phone then? WL'ed with my 176. Perhaps the 3.0 had something to do with it...calgal17 wrote:wow they're waitlisting people with over 170s? I have no hope...tarheel wrote:Waitlisted yesterday afternoon. 3.6/171, went complete at the end of November. Sent in my withdraw form last night.

Re: UCLA?
Blah, sorry, I actually have a 3.7/171- I mistyped my GPA earlier. I don't think I was careful or enthusiastic enough while putting together my UCLA application, and it seems like it showed. No hard feelings, UCLA
. Best of luck for everyone still waiting!

Re: UCLA?
LSN supports the high GPA idea (also, 170+ LSAT is pretty golden). I've heard that they really like in-state students, too.calgal17 wrote:Well...who knows what their thinking is. I guess they do like good gpas...so just mayyyyybe I could sneak in

Re: UCLA?
My GPA isn't rockin', to be honest (3.5xx). Non-URM, in-state though. LSAT around median. I know with near-certainty that it came down to the essays I wrote.
Good luck to everyone. Hold out hope!

Any other October people still waiting??? I really don't care the decision anymore, but I do feel entitled to some kind of response after over 15 weeks of silence.

I almost want to call and tell them that I wouldn't be heartbroken by a rejection. Maybe that would speed things up.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
