If I had to guess what went wrong for me, I would guess that one person or some people in the admissions office just didn't like my personal statement. I put a lot of effort into my statement, but at the end of the day, those things are subjective. I would also guess that my alumni interviewer didn't write that positively about me. For reference, I've had success with all of the other schools I've interviewed with so far this cycle, but I think alumni interviews in general can be pretty hit-or-miss. The particular alum I spoke with seemed like he either didn't take me or the interview process or both seriously. I didn't think it was that bad, and he told me at the end that he would say that I would be a good addition to the incoming class, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was just saying that.

Did anyone get a reply from GULC after you sent their response to the feeler email? I didn't even get the automated message confirming receipt so I'm kinda nervous they didn't get it.

Any held applicants hearing anything? They wouldn't be so cruel as to notify us on the 26th now, would they?

Went complete with ED January 12, it's now February 13. They are killing me with the suspense.

Nope. Had nothing to update except for a volunteer job that I haven't started yet :/ I too am expecting a WL/ding at this point.StopLawying wrote:Nothing yet, did you send them anything extra?pleasesendhelp wrote:Any held applicants hearing anything? Should I send in a Why GULC? I was under the impression that supp materials are sent only in the case of WLs or radio silence after like 4 months. You're making me all insecure

I was accepted this past Friday, post-dated from February 6th. I'm above both 75th's. Should I wait for that feeler email or just preemptively email them?

I think you're okay to do either. I solicited the feeler; they preemptively contact certain people and others I think experience a delay either because they're already being considered for named or programmatic schollys like PILS or because their stats aren't as good, maybe? That last part is purely speculative.ReadyToStart wrote:I was accepted this past Friday, post-dated from February 6th. I'm above both 75th's. anyway, you'll surely hear soon regardless but if you want a chance to say your piece about where Georgetown fits into your thinking, I say go for it and solicit that thing.

Recently got an interview request in NYC for next monday. No plan on going to GT, applied for negotiation. Email said application is under no disadvantage if no interview. Kind of have something that day. Should I go? I hear the argument of putting best app forward...

I apologize if this has been asked before and I'm sure it has, but what's the consensus on how "optional" the group interview really is? Just got an invite to attend one on President's Day which I'm really not down to do; will it really have no bearing whatsoever on whether or not I get accepted?

Not gonna lie, thought I was a shoo-in. Probably my lack of interest? Heard back second/third week of Jan about a week or so after my interview. Numbers aren't everything folks!

I'm sorry... I'm trying to ready myself for a ding. Tough.pleasesendhelp wrote:Not gonna lie, thought I was a shoo-in. Probably my lack of interest? Heard back second/third week of Jan about a week or so after my interview. Numbers aren't everything folks!
Did they email you just today with the ding? I wonder how they're evaluating held applicants... Like, in what order, etc... I was held in early December and haven't heard anything yet.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
