UR2 - 3/18
I sent an LOCI the day before receiving my WL. Any ideas on what else I can do to show interest? I don't have any resume updates or additional LORs

Scholarship decision mailed two days ago and I interviewed only a week ago. Seems like the turnover in decision time is now much faster. I'm very nervous. So it apparantly takes about a week for the mail to arrive from Duke, right? (not sure why so long, but apparantly that's what people reported?)

Mine was also mailed two days ago, and I received it today. I'm in DC, so I'm pretty close.ticklemesilly wrote:Scholarship decision mailed two days ago and I interviewed only a week ago. You know that saying "a watched pot never boils"? Well, a watched e-mail inbox never produces a Duke acceptance apparently.

So, I just got my scholly offer today & it was a decent offer. Still tryna decide between a few schools though. Is there any precedent for Duke upping an offer upon negotiation, or is an offer always final?

Congratulations!!! So weird that it took so long after the "watch for email" and then came on a Saturday...morningstar wrote:Finally got my acceptance email today.

So, would it be too late to send in a "Why Duke" after UR1 but before UR2?

"Applicants who have been admitted to Duke's JD program have until April 24 to make their tuition deposit and confirm their intent to enroll at Duke."ticklemesilly wrote:What is the deposit deadline? Anyone know? So hard to find on the website.
At least from their WL page...https://law.duke.edu/admis/waitlist/

Duke 1L here. I successfully negotiated my scholarship up with Duke last year. Don't want to put too much info here, but my experience suggests Duke will be more amenable to upping your scholarship if you have something from a T-6 school to show them.Peck.173 wrote:So, I just got my scholly offer today & it was a decent offer. I sent a LOCI/Why Duke (late Jan) about a month or so after Priority Reserve, should I send another? wait until after the deadline? neither?

Be careful about the deposit and confirmation. Confirmation needs to be sent via post.

Disclaimer! This may have been asked already- I am really late to the party.
Has any ever had a decision after the first "Under Review"
Or is it always after at least two? Thanks!

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the thread but can someone clarify what UR2 means? Is it generally considered a good thing? Or does it just mean I can expect a decision soon?

Re: Duke Law c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 cycle)
Almost every applicant changes to UR2 at some point before the decision is made. I've been UR2 since 3/12, so it doesn't necessarily mean a decision is coming all that soon.humph wrote:I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the thread but can someone clarify what UR2 means?
