less weird yeah. but just personally for me I'd rather get/ignore a text than have to explain to someone on the phone that I'm not interestedDream_weaver32 wrote:A call would have been less weird.xylocarp wrote: awk. at least they didn't call I guess?

Can people ITT talk about how they brainstormed PS topics? I literally keep tossing everything out

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
my brainstorming tactic basically just consisted of thinking of and rejecting various ideas in a cycle of frustration for 6 months. so that doesn't really help. but one thing I will say is that I ended up not really writing about an activity or job or why I want to go to law school or anything like that; instead I went with sort of a theme in my life that illustrated how I've become a better person etc. with various examplesblueberrycrumble wrote:Can people ITT talk about how they brainstormed PS topics? Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
So I accidentally failed to attach one of my best recommendations to my Stanford app, which went out on Sunday. Logged on today when I got my status checker details, realized my error, and went back to LSAC to attach it.
Thing is, my file had already gone complete and changed to 'submitted for review' or whatever. How long does LSAC take to send the new letter, and should I email admissions to tell them, in different words, to please make sure they read that one? Or will it just make its way into the file anyway and be read? There's no way they started on mine already, right?

Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I think this is basically right. (edit: as a brainstorming strategy, not that there's one "right" way to write a PS or something.) It's kind of like an elevator speech about who you are/why you want to go to law school, but like xylo said, supported with examples or stories. I think writing up a few illustrative anecdotes might be a good place to start--that's what I did, since it's easier to force yourself to tell a story than to figure out a non-trite way to say trite things, which is sort of how I feel the other part of the essay goes.rebexness wrote:I read somewhere that you should pretend you have a 5 min interview with the adcoms. is it bad if I don't want to meet any of you because I only want to picture you as your tars forever? relatedly, if any of you change them, I might freak out.

Unrelated question: have any of you guys attended an LSAC forum? Thoughts?
I have registered for the one in LA this Saturday but it would involve many hours of driving for me, so I wanted to make sure it's worth it.

That's awesome! Unfortunately, my first choice (Columbia) is not attending the LA forum, so that makes me question going at all.FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:I got about three t14 waivers from it, fwiwparkcity wrote:Unrelated question: have any of you guys attended an LSAC forum? Thoughts?

Did you have to ask for the waiver or were they just handing them out?FloridaCoastalorbust wrote:I got about three t14 waivers from it, fwiwparkcity wrote:Unrelated question: have any of you guys attended an LSAC forum? Thoughts?
