My Vanderbilt interview was over the phone and my G'town interview was in person, but that seemed like the only difference. Obviously it would vary by interviewer, but mine was engaging and we spent most of the time talking about her experiences in DC as she fielded my questions.SonlenNightfall wrote:Great, I just got an email asking me to interview... tomorrow...
Anyone else had alumni interviews and have some tips? I've only been to the Vanderbilt interviews and it was basically just a friendly chat. Didn't learn much from it about high pressure interviews...
Are you ED if they're having you do it tomorrow?SonlenNightfall wrote:Great, I just got an email asking me to interview... tomorrow...

It's not a prerequisite, no. Many people are accepted without interviewing. Best of luck!China Spy wrote:Do ppl have to be interviewed before being admitted?

Nope. I was contacted by the alumni guy in early January where he basically said "what is your availability?"scotth724 wrote:Are you ED if they're having you do it tomorrow?SonlenNightfall wrote:Great, I just got an email asking me to interview... tomorrow...

The only true questions I was asked, in interview form, were: "Why law?" and "Why Georgetown?"
Don't sweat it.
Yeah, it's five o clock over there so no news today right? I'm assuming they don't work overtime for us lowly 0L's.scotth724 wrote:No update, no letter, no email. At this point I'll take no news as good news, but tomorrow will be terrifying. Woof.

You should move this question to the admitted students thread in the class of 2017 sub-forum. That being said, Georgetown is known for being stingy with aid. The ASW just gives a brief overview of financial aid but it links to the general webpage for financial aid which you can read to get a better feel for their aid process.kcdc1 wrote:Do we know how Georgetown is doing merit scholarships? I'm having trouble figuring it out from the admitted students website.
I have seen people get into PT with lower numbers but not FT with the same lower numbers (based solely on LSN). Now this could be that they have amazing softs. http://lawschoolnumbers.com/mamarjocesium wrote:Is it easier, harder, or the same to get into Georgetown if you apply to their part-time evening program instead of the full-time one? I know the two programs have the same curriculum/professors, and the stats between the two groups are amalgamated for law school rankings. But does the part-time program prefer a type of applicant that the full-time one does not, or vice versa?

yes totally normalhamlet16 wrote:Hi all, I just have a quick question. 12/11 my app was completed. But after that, I receive no update at all. No emails about hold, interview, no date changes (state checker) so I'm super concerned. Should I contact the school? Anyone in the same boat?
