We are boring and all hate one another. Best way to nail the interview is just keep asking if they are GEORGE Washington. I'm sure they love that!scotth724 wrote:Applied 1/30, interview request today! FINALLY GOOD NEWS THIS CYCLE. Any advice? You all seem like a fun group.

FWIW: My interview was 10 minutes total. They asked me 1 question (how I picked my undergrad institution), and then spent the rest of the time talking up WUSTL. It feels more like a sales pitch for WUSTL than anything that can actually be considered an interview.scotth724 wrote:Applied 1/30, interview request today! FINALLY GOOD NEWS THIS CYCLE. Any advice? I asked one question, one I ask at every LS interview: If you had to convince me to attend right now, and I gave my answer after your response, what would you say to get me to commit to XXX school?

Hai. I'm Scotty. I'm from DC and I wanted to stay in DC for law school, so GEORGE Washington is PERFECT for my goals. That good?Attax wrote:We are boring and all hate one another. Looks like you're cut out for success, kid! They'll probably offer you a full ride+stipend right there over the phone.scotth724 wrote:Hai. I'm Scotty. This is the 180 response that they want to hear! Just say this to all their questions, they'll be so impressed with your consistency and dedication to their school they'd give you the best scholarship out of everyone.scotth724 wrote:Hai. EDIT: you could also ask them what differences there are between the DC campus and St. Louis campus

In my interview I said, "I always wanted to live in Seattle"Attax wrote:This is the 180 response that they want to hear! Ideas for good questions? Is it credited as a gay to ask about gay-friendliness in St. Louis?

Sure, why not? Would you want to attend a school who's adcomms can't even field that question? Secondly, score some diversity points.scotth724 wrote:Ideas for good questions? Is it credited as a gay to ask about gay-friendliness in St. Louis?

Scotty- I actually talked about DC a lot with my interviewer. Externships, career placement, networking, etc. Seems like WashU has a decent showing in DC. Point is, they're more than willing to talk about DC!

offered an interview as well today too, is this a good sign or just standard operating procedure by WUSTL?

I'd say it basically means you're in. Haven't heard of many (or any, for that matter) cases of people interviewing and not being admitted afterwards.pauly_biegler wrote:offered an interview as well today too, is this a good sign or just standard operating procedure by WUSTL?

Make sure to pronounce it as WUSTLE (rhymes with hustle).

I will respectfully disagree with the Nietzsche-reping chap and recommend you proceed by pronouncing it "whoo-stull".Winston1984 wrote:Make sure to pronounce it as WUSTLE (rhymes with hustle).

Yes, I think they're really receptive to any questions. I asked about entrepreneurialism in the law school and they got me more info that they didn't know. I think it mostly is to be sure you aren't just using them for money and then to get a perception of the school that may not be easily answered otherwise.scotth724 wrote:Ideas for good questions? Yeah, we spoke pretty extensively about my high school. I'm not a K-JD, and I don't live near St. Louis, so I'm not really sure how that happened...yeah, I wouldn't read too much into the interview...Attax wrote:Yes, I think they're really receptive to any questions. For maximum lulz, go with:
"The University of George Washington in St. Louis"
Got a little GW and U of W in there
