Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
FWIW (for those of you worried about the wait), I sent an e-mail on 12/23 asking to withdraw my application, and they just replied today. So, it seems they've been out of the office quite a bit over the holidays.

So I'm considering a LOCI in an attempt to kick-start my dormant application (no updates since going complete on 11/20). I'll probably make it of the Why NYU variety. Does anyone know if emailing a LOCI to admissions is acceptable? I'll snail mail it if necessary, but I figure the quicker it's received, the better.

Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
LOCI are totally acceptable and should be sent through email. Though I really wouldn't advise on that this early in the game. Usually LOCI are best received following a hold or a waitlist... I'd sit tight for now. Easier said than done, I know..kemosabe wrote:So I'm considering a LOCI in an attempt to kick-start my dormant application (no updates since going complete on 11/20). Re: NYU c/o 2017 Applicants Thread!
Of the few people I know who tried to kick start their application by one way or another, it seemed to have resulted in a ding or waitlist, when it otherwise would not have. Law schools have their own process and the ones we are looking at have the ball in their court as much as we would like to think otherwise - even with our clutch numbers. I'm sitting at 11/14 here and it sucks but I would not consider trying to speed them along in any waykemosabe wrote:So I'm considering a LOCI in an attempt to kick-start my dormant application (no updates since going complete on 11/20). I do not think a LOCI is necessary now. My app has been dormant since 10.10kemosabe wrote:So I'm considering a LOCI in an attempt to kick-start my dormant application (no updates since going complete on 11/20). Thanks for all of the quick replies. It's encouraging to know that there are others in the same spot. I thought I'd read the opposite strategy over in the Dean Spivey thread, but I could be mistaken. I guess I'll keep mulling over the idea and sit tight for now. It probably is a bit early for that still.

Unless things have changed since last month, you won't get the actual letter for a few days, because it's snail-mailed.juicebox wrote:AH "decision letter sent" as of 1/8. Freaking out!!!! How long does it typically take?
If you got in, you may/should be able to access the admitted students website later this afternoon (3 or 4 PM ish).
