I bet associates at NLJ251-350 firms woke up on that glorious day when the NLJ decreed, "WHAT WAS ONCE MIDLAW IS NOW BIG!" and had a serious uptick in their salary, quality of life, and general happiness, knowing that they were now BigLaw.
OH WAIT. ZERO DIFFERENCE MADE.

Shifting back to decsion obsessing aka when I may have to (sadly) unsubscribe from this thread:
Should we expect more decisions this week? Been complete (post interview) for about 3 weeks or more.
Is the general notion that they are going to hold off accepting below 25th URMs as late as they can still holds?

I think howardgirl was below 25th's and was URM and heard back. I don't think there's any real evidence to suggest that they somehow hold off on making URM decisions. My guess is that there's gonna be a steady trickle of offers going out for the rest of this month, but could be wrong. They might just do it all in one massive waveJayJones78 wrote:Shifting back to decsion obsessing aka when I may have to (sadly) unsubscribe from this thread:

I really subscribe to the theory that they're going to wait until after scholarship decisions to make more decisions. I don't know the data, but I wouldn't be surprised if they get a pretty decent idea of who's matriculating once those offers go out.cusenation wrote:I think howardgirl was below 25th's and was URM and heard back. Re holding off below median URMs, it's a general notion I read across the board here (i.e TLS not just this thread). I really hope things will move forward this weekcusenation wrote:I think howardgirl was below 25th's and was URM and heard back. We're all just spitballing here. Sunny could very well be wrong. Or right. We won't know until after the fact.

Lol no one REALLY knows, but I'd honestly be kind of surprised if they wait until March to release so many decisions...Remember that we've yet to see major movement for the winter applicants (December LSAT ppl). That's a huge group....JayJones78 wrote:![]()

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
I'm just speculating too, but it would make sense for schools to do this since they don't really have an incentive to hurry up and admit someone below both 25ths. That means that they have to matriculate someone above both 75ths to balance it out, which costs them $$$. I agree with sunny in that they're probably going to wait until after they release scholarships to make a bunch more decisions, so they can feel out their class size and make decisions accordingly.JayJones78 wrote: Is the general notion that they are going to hold off accepting below 25th URMs as late as they can still holds?

Re: WUSTL c/o 2016
According to LSN, so far there have been 97 acceptances. Last year, only about 350 WUSTL applicants self-reported data and I think that class profile said over 3,800 applications were received.
Even if we were generous to LSN and said that 1 in 3 acceptances were reported on their website, that would mean they admitted way over their likely class target of 200. Of course, they have a super-secret yield formula, but with the pressure they're probably feeling to keep class size down and LSAT median up, I really wouldn't be surprised if they take their time on more acceptances and start trickling things out as admitted students start withdrawing their applications.
