WL below 25th GPA and barely above 25th LSAT so actually pretty surprised!

Got an email informing me that I am on priority reserve. Not sure how to react. Sounds like waitlist to me... is there a difference, or are they just trying to make me feel a little more special about myself?

WL via e-mail. 174/3.31. Pretty sure I'll be withdrawing. Glad to have my final decision in. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Also put on priority reserve waitlist. Are the odds really that great?

Re: Duke c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I would expect a fair amount of WL movement this year. Duke was pretty conservative last year with admission, and it looks like the same is true this year. (They definitely seem concerned with keeping a small class size). But I know they went to the WL last year (one of my buddies here got in off WL), and I expect they'll do the same this year. Just keep in contact (get those LOCIs ready), and hope for the best. My gut instinct is that those with 170+ scores will have an advantage here.

Does Duke notify us of all decisions by email?

I'm on the PR list too and this is what they gave me after I emailed with a few questions:
"...We plan to assemble a waiting list that typically includes several hundred candidates. (Of course, not every candidate that is offered a space on the waiting list accepts it.) In most years, we re-review the candidates on the waiting list after enrollment deposits are submitted at the end of April, assuming that we still have space in the class. The Priority Reserve, however, is different - much smaller, and we re-review these files while we continue to make decisions in February - April. Some candidates on the Priority Reserve will be admitted during that period; others may be considered along with those on the waiting list after enrollment commitments are submitted in late April.
It's tough to estimate odds of getting in from the Priority Reserve but I can say that we always hope to admit a significant number of candidates."
They also suggested I send a LOCI and another rec letter. Not terribly helpful but it seems pretty optimistic to me. Hopefully they make my decision soon too because I'd really love to go to Duke if they can give me some decent $.
