It sounds like KB2s have been on Mondays this cycle... so I guess we should start hoping next Monday?

Last year there were three rounds of pre-Christmas KB2s - Nov 22, Dec 6, and Dec 20 and this year has followed that pattern thus far. So I would imagine Monday the 19th would be more likely than next Monday (as much as I hope I'm wrong) for the next group of KB2s.

Fine with me, as I don't have my KB1 until next Monday.yankees42789 wrote:Last year there were three rounds of pre-Christmas KB2s - Nov 22, Dec 6, and Dec 20 and this year has followed that pattern thus far. That does make sense, but I also hope you're wrong! I had my KB1 last week, so antsy to hear backyankees42789 wrote:Last year there were three rounds of pre-Christmas KB2s - Nov 22, Dec 6, and Dec 20 and this year has followed that pattern thus far. Wasn't there someone in this thread who heard back last week?yankees42789 wrote:Last year there were three rounds of pre-Christmas KB2s - Nov 22, Dec 6, and Dec 20 and this year has followed that pattern thus far. If we've learned one thing, it's that last year's cycle is by no means dispositive. I'll hold out hope for next Monday.

That's true, but there really isn't a pattern. At this point two years ago, for example, the cycle was following the same "pattern" -- but a batch of KB2s were released on Dec 14 as well.

God, I am going to be so anxious starting today. I had basically given up on Harvard until getting this KB1, and now I'm super anxious. I hope the chances of getting in aren't much lower now.

I think I looked at LSN last night for this cycle and for last year's cycle. I may have miscounted, but I think there were 19 (excluding an obviously fake profile) acceptances on there as of yesterday, but HLS had admitted 41 people by 12/06 of 2010.freestallion wrote:Well, I will hope along with you all!gimelstein315 wrote:yankees42789 wrote:Last year there were three rounds of pre-Christmas KB2s - Nov 22, Dec 6, and Dec 20 and this year has followed that pattern thus far. New dean... They could just be stretching it out. Hope?

Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
That does seem to indicate fewer acceptances have gone out so far this cycle. But only two people have posted KB2 dates of 12/05 on LSN, and there were definitely more people on TLS who got KB2's yesterday. So it can't be entirely indicative, though there probably is some difference is due to the new dean and a slightly later start?addy11 wrote:I think I looked at LSN last night for this cycle and for last year's cycle. Haha I don't mean to be snarky, but the idea made me chuckle:tt102 wrote:Did she give the sense whether this is unique to you/your application or whether this is something she'll expect from everyone from this point forward?vincanity1 wrote:Had my 6 minute KB1 today. Beats me. She asked me what I was up to, asked what classes I was taking which happen to be tough upper level classes in my major, and then mentioned that it'd be great if I could send them an updated transcript once the grades are in so they could make a more informed decision.tt102 wrote:Did she give the sense whether this is unique to you/your application or whether this is something she'll expect from everyone from this point forward?vincanity1 wrote:Had my 6 minute KB1 today. Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
I'm currently taking 3 4credit classes, and have 3 4credit classes next semester to finish up. My GPA is definitely borderline considering their 25% is 3.78 and I currently have a 3.77. My guess is that they're looking for me to jump over that percentile to be admitted. Unfortunately, it's almost impossible for me to do at this point in the semester. HTHtt102 wrote:Sorry if it is an unenlightened question, but what's your interpretation of that request then (i.e. asking for fall grades)?
It doesn't seem like something HLS does at this stage (or ever has before), so I'm wondering whether he's in a unique situation (e.g. borderline numbers, or has a lot of coursework left to complete, or something else that raised a flag) or if this is going to start becoming routine.
I guess it would help if we knew more about the context of the request... so, original poster, please elaborate.
Thanks.

Maybe she just asked every K-JD below her target GPA median. Since you're already below the median, any change to the GPA could only help. That might explain why she never asked thederangedwang.

I appreciate it, but I don't see how any change could only help. If I had to guess, it'll end up dropping to around a 3.73 or so.soj wrote:Maybe she just asked every K-JD below her target GPA median. Re: Harvard 2012 applicants (class of 2015)
Even if it dropped, it wouldn't hurt the median since you were already below the median. If it rose by a lot, though, you might get above the median, which might help raise the median by a hundredth or two. So at worst, it'll do nothing; at best, it'll help.vincanity1 wrote:I appreciate it, but I don't see how any change could only help.
