Stanford Law School 2011 Applicants (Pics) Forum

I heard that Stanford graduate schools in general, (Law, Business, Medicine, Education, etc) generally favor non-Stanford UGs rather than Stanford UGs because they want Stanford UGs to get a new experience... but that may be outdated due to the poor job market, increased applicants, etc. Just something I heard about 3 years ago...

For some reason I just have a hard time believing this in general. Why would you want to possibly alienate alumni, the source of significant donation funds?

Anyways, sorry to hear you got DLS hopefulfish . I had to check again and i'm still submitted for review 10/18. My third LOR got in though.

Not outdated. They still love Cal grads the best.

None reported here (that I know of) but then again, there is a vast pool of applicants that we're not in touch with . So who knows.

I think next year they should perhaps reconsider having a status checker.

Finally complete after calling them up about Form B. It actually arrived yesterday, but after calling they put it in and I'm now complete.

Hey guys, I just joined the forums today. I wish I had known about these forums earlier, although I think it might just have made me more stressed out about Harvard/Stanford. My file went UR 12/3 and I still haven't heard anything, although I haven't gotten the red "Decision Sent" of death yet either. Is there any method to the timing of Stanford's decisions, i.e. accepts x amounts of students in waves approximately around these dates? I've been trying to find out information about the process but it seems like it's a pretty secretive process.

Nope, unfortunately SLS is very unpredictable in their admissions timelines. You can look at the decision date graph in the OP (original post) to see a rough graph of when they sent out acceptances/waitlists/rejections last year.
