Exactly what he said he would. There were four questions. What are you doing right now? Why's law school the next right step for you? Why HLS? Do you have any questions for me?
It's funny because it's casual, easy, and informal which makes it low pressure, but the stakes couldn't be higher which makes it high pressure. The JR1 is an odd feeling.
I had mine earlier this morning as well.. I'm usually a pretty calm person but I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack waiting for him to call me. I got sooo nervous. Mine was pretty short too.
Anyways I hope we both get good news soon

I went complete 11/19 too (at least got my complete email then, not sure if you mean complete on the status checker) and no JR1 either. I'm the opposite, LSAT above the 75th and GPA lower than the 25th, but I'm hoping we haven't lost all hope yet...

I feel totally the same way. I'm usually very calm under pressure, but as soon as I saw a 617 number I had a panic attack. The more I think about it, the more I think I must have sounded like a nervous wreck. I'm hoping he's used to that.
At any rate, we were JR1 buddies, so here's hoping we can be JR2 buddies also.

Someone chance me (percentage is fine) on getting a JR1 in the next batch of invites:
Submitted 10/28
Under review 11/4
Complete e-mail 11/19
173/3.99, white non-URM, in undergrad
I was left out of the 11/23 group. Hoping I can be in the next.

I have VERY similar stats (slightly better) and have gotten JR2 already. I'm willing to bet you'll get a JR1/JR2
My undergrad is very well-known and competitive though, and the fact that JR previously worked at a management consulting firm might have helped me a bit. Also, I spent about 4 months writing my personal statement... I have done 59+ drafts

Bottom line: you have a great chance if you've done everything you can to make your application complete.
1. I've done a bajillion drafts... but i think you take the cake for 59+. I did maybe 20 drafts?
2. I hope the fact that JR worked at a consulting firm doesn't give anyone a "lift". That would be quite unfair. (no offense to you in particular)
This waiting is KILLING me!

I'm not sure whether 59+ is awe-inspiring, obsessive, or both. Probably both. JR would doubtless be thunderstruck (and very impressed) if he knew.

In the "wow I'm not sure why you were left out" sense or the "seriously, why are you holding your breath" sense?

I think you should have gotten a JR1. But I don't think that means you will necessarily get one. I think I should have at least gotten a JR1 last batch and the fact that I haven't makes me think I won't. (We also got complete emails the same day). Feel free to join Helm and I in (every thread) general despair and loud sighing.

Keep those chins up people!
EDIT: Maybe JR is just nervous about talking to such impressive people and backs out every time he goes to call you.

That is seriously disappointing. Not that I didn't see it coming, but still... seriously disappointing.

I think it kinda helps. Giving up is better than constantly thinking about it.

I'm another of the complete email on 11/19. Has anyone in that group had JR1s? If not, there's no reason to despair just yet...

+1, complete on 11/19, under review since 11/6, and nothing yet. I'm borderline (173/3.86) so not really counting on one, but with decent softs I'm optimistically hopeful.
still, after the pre-thanksgiving batch i kinda told myself to give up... might as well get the disappointment out of the way now, and if something comes then it'll be even more of a surprise... or at least, that's what i try to tell myself...

I'm more borderline, quite a splitter. I told myself to give up too but that doesn't really work for me.. If I'm honest I know I'll still be disappointed if I don't get a JR1, even if I'm not expecting one.

the neuroticism on this board is amazing. since when did median/median become borderline?

i'm probably 60th-70th percentile GPA and 35th-45th percentile LSAT, and i consider myself very borderline, looking at the results from last year...

I have almost identical stats and I consider myself borderline (plus no JR1 and complete 11/5).

starts to seem a little less "neurotic" and a little more "realistic" as the days without a JR1 continue, though, doesn't it?
