Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
It sometimes takes a few days after "mailing" your packet on the status checker for it to be actually mailed. For example, I was admitted on 12/1, but the postmark on my letter said 12/4, and it took about a week after that to actually receive the letter.tflan19 wrote:Does anyone else who has been accepted have "Admissions Materials Mailed" in their mailings section on the status checker? It has been almost two weeks since the date on this mailings line and I haven't received anything new from NYU. Just curious if this is a mishap or if I missed something in the mail?
I also have "Welcome Message from Dean" (an email) and "Decision Notification Sent" (acceptance letter) and have received those things.

Went complete and UR1 12/7 (although the more time has passed the more I'm convincing myself I imagined the first date change), and UR2 still 12/9 D:

Think it's too late for me to get an app out with a reasonable chance of getting in? 172 LSAT and 3.6 GPA if it matters.

Hey, this is my first time checking in, and I was just wondering, is it weird that I've had no movement since 11/11 when my app went complete? I am above 75th in both LSAT and GPA

Yes. Typically apps go UR within a day or two of complete. You should email them.Schneidersbetter wrote:Hey, this is my first time checking in, and I was just wondering, is it weird that I've had no movement since 11/11 when my app went complete? I am above 75th in both LSAT and GPA

The application status check says under review as of 11/11, which I assume means it post-complete. But I don't have an email from them confirming completionoliverotis wrote:Yes. I think if you're UR, there's not much you can do, just sit tight.Schneidersbetter wrote:The application status check says under review as of 11/11, which I assume means it post-complete. Checking in, under review as of 1/4 and an aspiring Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar (a little late to the draw, but alas, you never know)

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Hey, admitted student with a financial aid question. I didn't apply for any of the specific scholarships but I'm trying to fill out the form on NeedAccess to be considered for a merit award. Unfortunately, I can't find NYU Law on the 2016-2017 application when selecting schools. I was able to find Duke and some other law schools on there, and I did find NYU Law on the 2015-2016 application. Anyone else having this issue? NYU says on their site that the app on NeedAccess would be made available on January 1, so it should be available. Lastly, if I'm not applying for need based aid does anyone know if I need to complete the FAFSA as well, or just NeedAccess? It said everyone needs to do the latter but I believe FAFSA is optional. Thanks for the help!

If you want to take out federal loans, you'll have to do the FAFSA. I couldn't find NYU on Need Access either, might be worth a call to admissionsKiltedKicker wrote:Hey, admitted student with a financial aid question. Same problem here. I emailed the NA people, and they said that they were still waiting on some info from NYU Law but that they should be added to the list "tomorrow" ... although they did send me this message on Monday and it's now been two days, so kind of annoying but I'm sure NYU will be added soon.KiltedKicker wrote:Hey, admitted student with a financial aid question. Pretty sure you just need to do FAFSA if you want federal loans. NYU only uses NA. Obviously somebody should correct me if I'm wrong here.

Their response to me this morning: "The Need Access application is not yet available however, you can expect to receive further information and instructions from our office regarding financial aid in mid-late January."cbbinnyc wrote:Same problem here. I've got no problem waiting, just glad to know when to expect to have to do it and that I'm not gonna be late or anything

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Not NYU-specific; you can certainly do FAFSA now (estimated 2015 taxes are okay temporarily) and I already submitted mine. Need Access is open (maybe not for NYU again, I didn't look) and you can populate the form with estimated stuff as well. For both forms, you'll need to come through and enter the hard numbers when the time comes.KiltedKicker wrote:Their response to me this morning: "The Need Access application is not yet available however, you can expect to receive further information and instructions from our office regarding financial aid in mid-late January."cbbinnyc wrote:Same problem here. My only question for Need Access (which I hate, by the way) - they have 2 pages: one for 2015 taxes, one for 2016. Does this mean they want me to estimate what I will earn in 2016? It'll be pretty minimal, considering my fellowship ends in the Spring, and then law school starts. Has anyone looked it over?
Thanks!

Haven't completed it, but I got to that part and I did estimate...I'm salaried and I know when I'm leaving though, so mine was predictable.James.K.Polk wrote:
