When are you supposed to hear back by?
This week. It is a couple days late. Whats up with that? Without any status change. Is that bad news bears? Was hoping to get a yes so I can hang out with some of the folks at admitted students days.
Aw sorry to hear that :/ I guess with MLK day and the snow days. I was hoping for a status change today assuming that'd be a good sign and didn't get one, but honestly with like this weird week I don't think assuming anything is TCR. And likewise, it would have been nice if it had been in time for ASW. Well anyways, good luck and hopefully you'll get a letter tomorrow!

Does GULC notify ED acceptances via post?

Does anyone know what Georgetown's deferral policy is? I'm considering deferring admission for a year to gain some work experience, and most other top law schools have very liberal deferral policies, I just cannot find Georgetown's anywhere on their website.

I think if you get an update on the status checker and no email ding around the time you are due a response it might be a safe bet that you will get a deceptively small acceptance letter via the post.

"Deferral Policy
Georgetown University Law School does not grant deferrals. In exceptional circumstances such as military activation or life threatening medical emergencies, the Law School may grant deferrals. Decisions are made on an individual basis at the discretion of the Director of Admissions."

Also....

If I am accepted to the Law Research Program, can I defer my acceptance for a year?

Again, this is decided on a case-by-case basis by the Associate Dean for Research and Academic Programs. On occasion, past Fellows have been able to defer, but the option depends on practical issues that change from year to year.

Source: Georgetown Law Website - Does not directly answer question but gives context.

I think basically what this means is that deferring is on a case by case basis granted to only a select few applicants. Otherwise you have to reapply in the next cycle.

Georgetown should base acceptances on number of visits to the status check page.

I almost don't even want to know, but.. how do they inform you of being held, or waitlisted, or denied? Acceptance comes in a small envelope via USPS but what about the not-so-great results?

I've imposed a limit on myself of one check per day per school. I think I'd drive myself insane and get nothing done otherwise.

Except GULC doesn't have a specific time that it updates... So I check all the time.

I have not gotten anything done this week between snow days and refreshing for an ED decision. My heart stops every time I get an email this is the worst feeling in the world.

Great, I just got an email asking me to interview... tomorrow...

Anyone else had alumni interviews and have some tips? I've only been to the Vanderbilt interviews and it was basically just a friendly chat. Didn't learn much from it about high pressure interviews...

Doesn't seem like there's a set structure for the GULC interviews. I'd rehearse an answer for, "Why should GULC take you?" I was asked that and didn't see it coming. Practice complimenting yourself.
