$7k/yr.
I really want to attend but I need more. ND says they're giving me a scolly so I'll wait for that offer and negotiate. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up going either WUSTL or ND. Really depends on which gives me more $$$.

That's actually pretty nice.wittyhandle wrote:$14,000/yearAustinbound wrote:Everyone is saying that their scholarships are "bad" or that they are "disappointed," but I'm not seeing any actual numbers. Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
I was 12k/year 75th LSAT, below 25th GPA. There was a huge listing of #s like 20 pages back during the first wave. It appears that $ offers are about more than just #s as there are pretty good inconsistencies. Obviously URM comes into play, but it seems geography and connection to STL as well. If this is true, then the low-offer is to keep people from using WUSTL as negotiation or to force people to display high interest to get that green.Austinbound wrote:Thanks guys! Very helpful!

It is more than I expected with my GPA (3.3) but I was still hoping some magic WUSTL fairy Godmother would give more. It is still one of my top choices though so I will happily stay on board and keep wishing for that fairy to wave her wand!ManoftheHour wrote:That's actually pretty nice.wittyhandle wrote:$14,000/yearAustinbound wrote:Everyone is saying that their scholarships are "bad" or that they are "disappointed," but I'm not seeing any actual numbers. Hey guys! I've been following this thread for awhile, and thought I'd check in. I'm still waiting to hear back. Submitted 1/14. Hoping to hear back this week, but not crossing my fingers. Did anyone hear back on a day other than Thursday/Friday? I keep stalking my in box at work, but keep being disappointed.

I haven't gotten my offer from ND yet either but I'm thinking that I'm going to use them to leverage off of each other as well.

Anyone think throwing offers from UMN will be decent leverage in this Midwest madness?yossarian71 wrote:+1Austinbound wrote:ManoftheHour wrote:$7k/yr.

I agree with the geography and STL connection. I am from Missouri and pretty content with staying (which I mentioned a lot in my interview), so that may be why they offered more than expected.yossarian71 wrote:I was 12k/year 75th LSAT, below 25th GPA. If it helps, I think last year they dropped the full scholly bomb in June. I'm pretty sure there's money there yet.Attax wrote:This. Medians? Remember- Wash U has a crazy-good med school, a really good B-school, and a really good law school. They're determined to keep rising in the USNWR rankings, from what I hear, and will use the combined resources (plentiful, plentiful resources) of all three schools to make it happen.Austinbound wrote: Oh that helps. Agreed, but we don't know they will do that yet this year.Attax wrote:Waiting to June is kinda scummy though.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Remember- Wash U has a crazy-good med school, a really good B-school, and a really good law school. They bumped the first round of schollies by almost 3 months this cycle (which I was very thankful for). Last year first round was end of Feb, vs. around Thanksgiving this year.
So maybe March is the new June? Keeping my fingers crossed for you all!

Right. And I was using last year's June bonanza as an example of Wash U's ability to lay on the money when needed. I'm not saying everyone has to necessarily wait til June, but rather that there is money available.Fiero85 wrote:Agreed, but we don't know they will do that yet this year.Attax wrote:Waiting to June is kinda scummy though.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Remember- Wash U has a crazy-good med school, a really good B-school, and a really good law school. Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Good points from both, seems like maybe March would be more strategic: give lots of money BEFORE deposit deadlines so that way you won't have some applicants just dismiss you afterwards because they didn't want to wait/got decent offers elsewhere they were willing to take.Ricky-Bobby wrote:Right. It would also save them the embarrassment of offering full rides to applicants who had already withdrawn.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
True, but I think if you're wanting to raise medians that offering more generous scholarships at least would keep their interest. I know if they don't succumb to my negotiating that I'll withdraw, but would really consider if they'd at least start off now with some decent money. I'm not going to beg.cannibal ox wrote:It would also save them the embarrassment of offering full rides to applicants who had already withdrawn.
