Does anyone mind explaining to me the joke behind the Stanford status check fail. I saw the ding bar post and I'm curious.
But I'm obviously using the link from the email and it is down.
Btw where the f is my ding letter? Teasing me with DLS then making me wait for the D is the ultimate tease.
This will be the third time in my life that Stanford has rejected me when applying to one of their programs. WTF is wrong with me? Why do I do this to myself?

Is Stanford going slower than last year, in terms of acceptances?

When should an early November applicant send in a LOCI - end of this week? Ever?

Can someone post a link to the blog post? And if we have nothing really that meaningful to add, is it worth sending the LOCI at all? Lol. 11/20 complete here

I'd go by submit date rather than complete date... as it seems she thinks you might want to respond if the time from your last interaction is lengthy. But, if you have nothing meaningful to add, that is a different consideration. If you can't add anything new... I guess it turns into a Why Stanford?Teflon_Don wrote:Can someone post a link to the blog post? And if we have nothing really that meaningful to add, is it worth sending the LOCI at all? Re: Stanford C/O 2016 Applicants Thread
Does anyone have any insight into how Stanford's admission process works? Like, the way we know that Yale and Berkeley work (some are auto admit, some go to committee)? It looks they've accepted some in as little as twelve days, others have taken longer, and rejections seem to go out in order at a snail's pace. Why wouldn't they just reject everyone en masse?

So... I've been at "your file has been submitted for review" since 11/9.
I wanna send a LOCI but I don't know if I should because they haven't even looked at my file yet.
Thoughts?!

How do you know they haven't looked at your file yet? I'm pretty sure at least someone has to do a yes/maybe/no decision on it... SLS doesn't update anything between the submitted and DLSdiver88 wrote:So... I've been at "your file has been submitted for review" since 11/9.

Oh I thought they had another "under review" status in between or at least a date change - thanks for clarifying. Someone mentioned a blog post about now being a good time to send a LOCI - can someone post that link?ManOfTheMinute wrote:How do you know they haven't looked at your file yet? What does a "have not heard yet" LOCI look like (as opposed to a WL LOCI). Also, I'm a Dec submit. Should I just wait to see if I'm dinged along with the Decembers or should I preemptively strike?

I think it makes to sense to wait unless you have great new grades or achievements to update them with?abcde12345 wrote:What does a "have not heard yet" LOCI look like (as opposed to a WL LOCI).
