But you're attending harvard?

Do they recycle the hamiltons or no?
I'll be withdrawing (though I admit I thought twice about it). And I'd be pretty shocked if they didn't extend the offer to somebody else.

Oh yes. If you're the second person offered, you get a letter stating that you were not the first choice for the Hamilton, but you'll have to do. It also won't fit right and will smell a bit like your aunt.

Maybe they're holding up my application pending giving me a recycled hamilton... yeah thats definitely it.

Honestly, I do not understand why they cannot be like everyone else.

Big package from Northwestern was deceptive, but alas, no VCE out in LA today, as expected.

Is it just me, or have a larger-than-usual number of the applicants who heard back today received Hamiltons? They aren't exactly given out like candy. Could this mean anything?

Seems as though many (but not all) locals haven't heard yet. Not sure if this is some kind of trend or if I'm just desperate for an explanation
I'm pretty sure they must be mailing multiple batches. Too many strong local candidates haven't heard today. (This sounds like exactly what I said after the first day of JS2s and I ended up being right--it just didn't end well for me. ) Assuming they didn't go into work Saturday and therefore couldn't mail anything, it's possible they mailed another batch today, some more Manhattan people will get NCEs tomorrow, and those of us in the surrounding area will get them on Wednesday.

On the other hand, I'm kind of hoping that I was actually in this batch, that the mail system is messed up here and that I get mine tomorrow. Time will tell.

I believe I am thinking what you're thinking. To some, the prospect of no hamilton might seem disappointing.. but to me, the prospect of a larger number of acceptances alone is thrilling.

I'm not sure which part is real and which isn't. Do they really tell you you weren't the first choice?!

If it's a Hamilton (full-tuition) or a Butler (half-tuition), then it's included with the acceptance letter. All other money is awarded later, although I don't know offhand by what method or when.

How many Hamiltons and Butlers are there and do you apply separately or they're just like SURPRIIISSSSEEEEE HERE's MONEY

Admitted today - no scholarship.

My wife had a good laugh as I dug through my acceptance packet looking for $$$, found nothing, and scowled.

This and your profile confuse me. Both $ regard and are you a boy or a girl? Not trying to be heteronormative just confused

That happened to me too! I was FRANTICALLY reading through every page and my roommate was like, 'Dude, you got in, it says right there.' And when I told her what I was looking for she laughed at me :|

I knew I had no shot at a Hamilton (damn you test anxiety and freshman GPA), but I really thought I would get a Butler.

Looks like 32 full or more than full-tuition scholarships, but I believe that includes public interest fellowships, about which I know nothing. So I'd guess around 20.

Lol, sorry. Just thought it was an amusing disconnect. Forgot this was TLS and everyone else would pile on.
trojandave wrote:Lav ain't messing around. (I really hope you get that Hammy tomorrow)
Nah, I think the negative karma I built up last night will prevent me from getting a Hamilton. Friend's facebook status was "Hamilton > Jefferson" so I commented "Burr > Hamilton." Apparently, history grad students consider that a low blow :?

So 20/yr, or is it 8/yr? That data makes it seem like 8 or so per year actually take the hamilton...
