What do you guys think is a good law school to apply to for the purposes of negotiating scholarship money with NYU? Will Penn or UVA do the trick?

Columbia, Harvard... don't know how effective negotiating with a scholly from a lower ranked school is.

And us and CLS are not particularly fond of negotiating with each other

I think your best bet is any school ranked higher than NYU. HYS and Chicago will all give you some decent leverage. In terms of schools ranked lower than NYU, I think NYU assumes that their brand is worth enough that they don't have to pay you not to go to a lower ranked school.

Hey all, as of 1/4/2012 my status checker has been updated to "Decision Letter Sent". Can someone tells me what this means? Is this a notice of admission? I know earlier on in the cycle a DLS update was basically equivalent to an offer of admission, but what does it mean at this point?

Thanks, I'm still kind of dizzy about it (keep checking the score on LSAC).

Entire T14 (withdrawing from NU) and will withdraw from a lot of other schools once I have a T7 secure.

Not to burst anyone's bubble (and I hope you guys are all being admitted!), but how do you know the DLS is an acceptance? I know for ED they did e-mails for deferrals (I did receive one, after all), but I am pretty sure that in past years, almost all the communications from NYU have been by mail, not e-mail...

I don't really understand your point. His status checker says DLS, meaning that NYU sent out a decision letter out, which could be snail mail or email.

Anyway, rejections didn't happen until late January according to the graph on page 1, but as we know, things can change.

Yeah, it could be a rejection, but it seems as if the rejections will be rolling in at the end of January once they get a greater sense of the December LSAT applicants.

Anyone know what the policy is if you had a pending December score but sent in the application with October score?I've been UR since 12/7 and had decent numbers even before the December test.

I'm really surprised you haven't gotten in yet... My numbers are substantially worse at 170/3.84 with a UR date of 11/6... But still about an 80% chance according to LSN (though most of those folks went to HYPS, I suppose).
