Okay I'm just going to post everything that I remember from last year/what other people have posted so y'all can chill out (as much as possible).
The day we got calls:
1. They started in the afternoon.
2. They come from a 773 area code number.
3. If you are called, they aren't rejecting or waitlisting you.
4. They stopped around 5-5:30 central.
5. After all the calls were done, they sent out rejection/WL emails that evening (don't remember exactly when)
6. International applicants got emails for acceptances (as well as rejections/WLs)
7. The admissions staff here is awesome

Is it weird that I'm not even UR yet but I keep checking this thread because I'm excited for everyone else to hear back?
Good luck! Hopefully news comes out today.

Is the fact that people are getting status updates today an indicator that the decisions are not coming out today? Someone mentioned that earlier in the thread.

Hey, since you're on a caffeine high, mind answering a question? How are clinics founded (and operated)? Is it completely up to the prerogatives of the faculty/deans?Xifeng wrote:Too hopped up on free coffee to do thatWhiteGuy5 wrote:Stop trying to bring a sense of order to this thread.

I know for the most recent clinic (environmental), a big part of it was getting the $$ to start it up. And then they did a search for a faculty head. I'm not sure if they were like, "oh, we want an environmental law clinic, let's find $ for it!" or were like, "hello rich alums, what kind of clinic would you like to shell out $$ for?"

Does a recent UR update tend to indicate anything in terms of what your decision might be? (Similar to NYU's DLS system?) Seems like maybe not if they're preparing to admit, WL, and reject people practically all at once?

I'm a huuuuuge longshot to get into Chicago (171, 3.5x), and I had the following UR status updates:
12/22 --> 1/11
Not to scare anyone, or anything

Interesting. I wonder how it did go down. And how much money it takes to start one.Xifeng wrote:Haymarket'll get mad at me, but whatevs.Samara wrote:Hey, since you're on a caffeine high, mind answering a question? A Chicago acceptance would put my mind at ease about the Michigan shituation (not getting an e-mail). I'm going to stay out of that depressing thread today

So with more UR updates today, does that mean no decisions? Does anyone know if there were UR updates on the 10th last year?

I feel like they would have announced it on twitter already if today was the day. What time did they tweet for ED decisions?

Last year calls started about 12:30 central time, and they tweeted about 20 minutes after they started making calls.

Re : #6 - I'm Canadian and got a call (to my phone with a Canadian area code), not an e-mail. Before I was accepted, I wasn't sure if we were considered "International" in this context, but my experience suggests Canadian applicants might be notified the same way as are U.S. applicants.Xifeng wrote:Okay I'm just going to post everything that I remember from last year/what other people have posted so y'all can chill out (as much as possible).

Canadian = Northerner. We're all one big happy continent. We keep the snow in Canada, the sun in Mexico, and the crazies between the two.TurdFerguson wrote:Re : #6 - I'm Canadian and got a call (to my phone with a Canadian area code), not an e-mail.
