Actually, the dean in the Info Session said that the PS was the most important part of the application. Meant to make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside, no doubt.

That's really interesting and, if true, was to my advantage - I went to a top public school in the Philly area.

And on another note - I think these rejections/deferrals are evidence of Penn's clear desire to move up in the rankings.
