Yes I'm hoping this but still praying that I'm only taking as long as I am because I have a black mark on my life isn't terribly uplifting.

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Just got in today! This is my first acceptance of the cycle, so I am pretty pumped!! I wasn't expecting to hear back from NYU until after the new year, so this really is a surprise.
I submitted 12/2, went UR 12/3, and went UR2 only yesterday (12/21). I'm wondering if the swiftness of NYU's decision (12/21 UR2-->12/22 acceptance) will have any indication on how I may fare at other schools.
In any case, good luck to everyone!

Ahh this is like my exact same sequence minus the getting in part. Would you mind PMing me your stats?LS19 wrote:Just got in today! This is my first acceptance of the cycle, so I am pretty pumped!! I wasn't expecting to hear back from NYU until after the new year, so this really is a surprise.

The fact that I went UR2 on the same day that other people went from UR1 to Accepted is just torture. Everything is torture. I really wish there were no such thing as status checkers now. The illusion of having any idea of what's going on is just making it worse.

honestly i think CLS does it best: they tell you when your app is complete and that's it. what more do you need?nicknar wrote:The fact that I went UR2 on the same day that other people went from UR1 to Accepted is just torture. How many scholarships are people applying for? Is four scholarship applications too much? Lol
Do scholarship committees see your PS and DS? Or do they just see your specific scholarship essay?

I applied for only 2 that I felt were applicable to me. Some of the NYU scholarships have stipulations attached to them, and I didn't want to profess full interest and then end up having to pay for my school anyway lol.seashell.economy wrote:How many scholarships are people applying for? I think 4 isn't too much. If you are able to substantiate your interest through your essays and interviews, then why not?

Thanks for the feedback! I ended up applying for three (all public interest) so we'll see how it goes : )Oskosh wrote:I applied for only 2 that I felt were applicable to me. Yes, specific NYU scholarship programs can see your PS and DS, just as the general admissions committee can see your specific scholarship essays.seashell.economy wrote:How many scholarships are people applying for? Is four scholarship applications too much? Lol

You will see a new date for "current status date" although the status will still be "Under Review."bostonmaura wrote:how do you know when you go into UR2?LS19 wrote:Just got in today! Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Just got my letter(admitted a while ago but im in Canada). Had a really nice hand written post-it note attached referencing some of the personal and familial adversity i talked about in my personal statement. Dont know if everyone gets that but regardless its a really cool gesture. Anyways, hopefully that bodes well for my AnBryce chances...anyone have any info on when we start finding out about scholarships?

Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
I just got my letter, and mine had a nice note as well. Not about adversity though haha (didn't make it a point in my application), but more complimenting my PS and achievements and such. I didn't apply for any named scholarships, but I should be a competitive candidate for their unnamed scholarship (if such a thing is more than a myth). But I'm in the same waiting boat as you until they start dealing out the cash.jnwa wrote:Just got my letter(admitted a while ago but im in Canada). Re: NYU c/o 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Does anyone else who has been accepted have "Admissions Materials Mailed" in their mailings section on the status checker? It has been almost two weeks since the date on this mailings line and I haven't received anything new from NYU. Just curious if this is a mishap or if I missed something in the mail?
I also have "Welcome Message from Dean" (an email) and "Decision Notification Sent" (acceptance letter) and have received those things.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
