If your MBBS is your only undergraduate education, then unfortunately you will be given a grade of Superior/Above Average, etc. They won't take into account your secondary education. The LSAT score is great, congrats! I'm not sure how HLS views internationals, but there is some information on the International Applicants thread you could look at. Also posting your situation in the What are my Chances board could generate some more information from more than OLs. Good luck!BlessUSA1992 wrote:I thought LSAC will award me a GPA or some sort of category like superior/above average/average. I have not been given a GPA if that answers your query.

I just realized that the first sentence of my personal statement says "In order to be be considered" because I accidentally copied in the wrong place when editing and didn't notice. Wait listed for sure.

How long ago did you submit? Maybe you can send in an update? I'm not sure how updates work though beyond resume changes and small clerical errorsomegaweapon wrote:I just realized that the first sentence of my personal statement says "In order to be be considered" because I accidentally copied in the wrong place when editing and didn't notice. Already had JS1. Suspect correcting now would only draw attention.ChemEng1642 wrote:How long ago did you submit? Maybe you can send in an update? i sure can't say it's it's a plus but i would personally, baselessly suggest that you not send in an update just to make that small of a correction. WL is fine anyway, so long as you're in come September.
Don't read too much into that^ tho please, JS. Earlier the better, if you'd be so kind.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. An update would just draw attention, and it's not like the mistake changes the meaning of what you're trying to say.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
Historically, Janruary apps have done worse than early apps, but by worse I mean that a September app would put you at a 85% lock and a January app at 83%. However, this cycle has been weird enough that, if your LSAT is in that range, you probably won't be hurt too much.leslieknope wrote:Question! To what extent does applying in January hurt your chances for Harvard? My GPA is above 75th (3.98 LSDAS), but I'm a December LSATer, so I can't go complete until scores are released. I have everything ready to go and if my LSAT score is between the 25th and 75th percentiles, my plan was to hit send as soon as scores come out. Is there any data regarding how late applicants do with Harvard?

Not sure if this is because most apps are in before January and hence most decisions are made before but this seems like a huge difference, not just 85% ---- 83%

I was surprised that the data suggests 85%>83%; I too thought it would be much larger. However, I think the thing to remember is that leslieknope's choices are apply now or wait until the timing would be better. I wouldn't let the fact that there's a small difference bother her.

There was a site that sometimes gets mentioned on TLS that actually ran a regression on law school admissions for the T14 based on application timeline. I can't remember the name right now though ahh... I want to find the site to confirm because I could be misremembering, but I do vaguely recall there was a statistically significant advantage to applying earlier to HLS.

If for some reason your LSAT score is <25th, what's your plan? Sit out a cycle and retake? Just wondering what your alternate options are.leslieknope wrote:Question! I think you're on the right track in submitting as soon as the scores come out. Good luck!

You can submit your app after you take and they will see that you have a pending score. If you feel good about your score you should do that and get it in a little earlier.

Seems like there used to be a big boost to applying early, but it has decreased at HLS. And the data on the website is for the Fall 2013 cycle. Either way, a pretty interesting website to read through.

Re: Harvard c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
According to the link posted above, improving your lsat score even by a point is more advantageous than an early application. I genuinely believe that January apps will do just fine this cycle. If you consult the admissions counselors, they'd probably tell you the same thing. Essentially, don't sweat it.leslieknope wrote:Question! leslieknope wrote:Yeah, that's the plan. If I don't like my score, I'll sit out the cycle, retake in June, and apply early on in the next cycle. Had my JS1 today - was anyone else told that "we are still early in the admissions process and it will be a while until we are in touch again"?
