Freaking out man.
For the hundredth time, at UVA, this means you're in.
A couple pages back a poster indicated getting this email and there being an actual question about their application.
Hahah do you mean earlier today? Because that was me... Anyways I found a fellow splitter who this happened to back in October (in terms of just discussing his application) who got admitted a couple of days later. Mine was about why my GPA was a bit lower than the average student, which I am going to assume is what his was about as well to keep my hopes above water.
Anyways I won't feel comfortable until I've gone through the entire thread and see no mention of the call email followed by a WL. On page 21 at the moment hahaha.
Also congrats to all of todays admits.

I got a call about a question regarding my application in like, September or October and haven’t heard a word since. But I hope you get better news!

Ahh...sorry, just wondering
You could rent a car or take the train, depending on your preference.

I think there's also a bus from D.C. that might be cheaper.

I'm embarrassed to admit that the randomness of UVA admissions has finally gotten to me! I submitted on 11/2 and went complete on 11/9. For some reason, that time period in particular seems to lack replies (based on LSN). Of the 19 people who applied between 11/2 - 11/4, only two have heard. Obviously there is significant overlap, but the same is true for the range of completes: 18 people went complete between 11/7 - 11/9. Only one person has heard of the 18.
While this analysis doesn't lead to anything useful, I do hope UVA makes some decisions on this group soon-- we're definitely past the 6-8 weeks mark for going complete/UR!

Maybe you're up next, if they are going in chronological order. I heard yesterday, and I went complete on 10/28. I think I was part of their "second pass" at that group of applications, because some people with my dates heard back much earlier.

Thanks, I hope you're right!

It makes sense to think they go through it in order, but some apps go through multiple reviews. I'm more hopeful about news this week now!

That's really weird. I went complete sometime in late November and heard back in mid-December. Maybe they're just not doing it in chronological order?

+1. It's a little frustrating not to have heard anything. Then again, I am prepared for the WL/ding I'm almost sure is coming. So...

I think because of the ED program and the in-state requirement, and UVA's general numbers obsession (even more than other schools), their whole process and wacky and pointless to follow or try to draw conclusions from. I'm an early November complete and have no word yet.

Just want to point out that the applications are reviewed in chronological order, but there's no reason to believe that decisions will come out in chronological order...
It's frustrating, but many of us are just destined to wait longer to hear back from certain schools...

From last years thread:
ma456 wrote:So I got an email asking me to call, I tried to call a bunch of times but got voicemail. Left messages with when would be good to call back. Never got called back and got the WL email this morning! This isn't typical right? It's okay because I was planning on withdrawing anyway, but still. Getting that email asking me to call is supposed to mean I got in, right? Not like I didn't TRY to contact Jason.
