I speak as someone who rode out the Michigan, Duke, GULC, and NU waitlists last year (obviously I didn't get in). If there's any way to keep yourself off a waitlist, do it.

I would love your numbers. You might get waitlisted but if they did waitlist you and you wrote a letter committing to attend they would almost certainly accept you afterwards unless you're a convicted murderer or something.Hopeful13 wrote:New to this site. Just wondering my chances.

True. If there's others still waiting, wait a while. I'm just saying don't settle for a WL. Especially if Penn's in your top 3.Nelson wrote:It's a little different since their stats are in the target range for Penn, they wrote a Why Penn already, and there are others from that same date range still waiting.JustE wrote:Errr... Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
My status has now changed to "Under Committee Review". This is the first movement I have had from any of my apps going into review with the exception of Harvard and a Priority Track app to Duke. Two questions:
1.) Does anyone have an idea for the turnaround from UCR to decision?... I know the website says it could take as long as 12 weeks, but I was curious if anyone has heard back sooner.
2.) I applied around November 22nd to all of my schools and haven't heard anything back and even as far as a review from many; how many others are in a similar situation?... just wondering if there is any correlation here to success/admittance.
Thanks

Re: Penn c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I applied 9/30 and was complete 10/5. RD I think it said it would take as long as 12 weeks from Complete to a decision. 12 weeks passed about 2 weeks ago for me, but a couple of people were accepted in early/mid-December who applied later than me, so yes, there have been applicants who heard sooner. However, there are also applicants, like myself, who still haven't heard beyond the 12 week mark.PopTorts13 wrote:My status has now changed to "Under Committee Review". Have you tried calling them? Since it says on the status checker "up to 12 weeks", that's somewhat definitive so you may be able to get some answers from them? Most schools seem to use softer languagefoxylaxy wrote:I applied 9/30 and was complete 10/5. There was like 3 on TLS who got their RD decision last month with the EDers... but it seemed like they were kind of auto admit and applied in early september. No RD sinceBoston_NYG2245 wrote:Has Penn made any RD decisions? I thought we'd only seen ED to this point?foxylaxy wrote:I applied 9/30 and was complete 10/5. Batch of acceptance calls the week of 12/16. Mostly September submits. It was after the EDs, I dunno if it was auto admits, but mostly 172+, relatively high GPA people. I think I was one of the lowest stat people to get in.Boston_NYG2245 wrote:Has Penn made any RD decisions?
