Housing stipend is a 10K grant for the first SCHOOL year. Allow me to clarify, because I was a bit fooled by this. You have to pick out BU-owned housing, which is located both on and off campus. I chose an on-campus apartment which is 5 minutes south of the law school. The leases are all 1 year, but the 10K stipend only covers for the 9 months of the school year. Therefore, if you lease an apartment that is 1,000 a month, BU will give you 9K out of that 10K grant, and you have to pay for the 3 summer months no matter what. And if you milk out all 10K, that just means you are paying extra during the summer months. And it is only for the 1st year.laurencita7 wrote:Can you tell us more about the housing stipend? Is it for on-campus or off-campus? Is it for all 3 years? Any details would be much appreciated. Thanks!DorianGray89 wrote:Just got 35k a year, plus 10k as housing stipend via mail.... sooo surprised! Still in shock.

Not to be Downer McGee, but I got a full scholly at Cardozo with no stipulations and $0 at BU.curly3426 wrote:Just got in! how long does it take to hear about scholly info

Not that I'm bitter or anything
But on the bright side, $$ can come at any time from BU and they're also very generous with URMs.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Hey Guys....
SO got my packet today - it had all the info - also stating that merit based scholarship can come at anytime - I also got a personal note saying how excited they were to have such an accomplished actor join the BU LAW community
my question is... has anyone received scholarship money after the packet, or has it come together?
THANKS

That is soooo nice! If BU accepts me, this gives me hope I'll get SOME money from them, as my LSAT is only 1 point lower than yours.js77 wrote:Mine came in my packet at 10k/year

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Received admission packet today. no fin aid or scholarship info. When can I expect?
Edit: Also the note from the dean was touching. All the other notes just made reference to me as a candidate but this reflected more on my personal statement and me as a person.

Packet? Is this the admissions packet? I didn't get any $ mentioned there. Does this mean I won't be offered a scholarship?aaaaaah wrote:Woah. Just got my packet-- 20k/year. Definitely was not expecting that.

How long did it take you guys to hear back? I've been waiting quite a while now and still have nothing from BU. From browsing these pages quickly, it seemed like alot of people experienced that.

Re: BU 2011 Applicants
Got the packet. Really shocked to not have any mention of $, especially considering the hefty scholarship Minnesota offered me. I'd consider BU if there were money attached. Oh well.
My handwritten note was really nice - BIG plus for BU.

For those who got packets and no money mention - did you get the letter explaining that merit-based schollys can come at any time?
