Sorry. Guess that does blow that theory - well, just looked at LSN, and it seems like no PT has been accepted yet - there are no accepts lower than 170 LSAT unless their GPA is 3.85 or so. So maybe they are just WLing the whole PT pile for now.tesoro wrote:I'm a DC gov't working type.ruleser wrote:Here's a question that may help this discussion - have any of the accepts so far been to the PT prog? If so, the numbers of those accepts could say what they are doing this year (if it is YP, or they want even higher #'s).
I kind of go with
1) possibly YP
2) from what I've heard in the past, they do focus on a certain type for PT, mainly DC working types - it may be for reputation purposes they need to keep enough spots open for the gov't boys and gals who work for Congresspeople/Senators/Dept of Justice/Pentagon?etc.
I need to train myself to stop looking at this thread now that i have a decision. You kids can continue analyzing, I've gotta figure out how to get off of the waitlist in the meantime.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
There's a 167/3.77 that was accepted in 2 weeks after complete. It seems like that was the only school he applied to though so he must have gone ED as well. Given some of the WL on here, I don't see how any of the other 40 or so people on there are going to get accepted outright.ruleser wrote:Sorry. Wtf. I didn't even get on the preferred waitlist. I guess that means they really don't want me huh? Why wouldn't they just reject me?

I'm optimistic

Try sending them a letter explaining why PT is for you or something... YP or some really really bad app error might be to blame?
No felonies I assume?

Haha, I have absolutely no criminal record. To be fair, I don't have any amazing softs, I have a diverse background (not URM), speak 3 languages, and 1.5+ yrs work experience in a current full time job, so my softs aren't absolutely awful either. My numbers which I had listed in a previous post (3.5 168) should have been pretty much in, so I'm really not sure what's going on this cycle. Had my personal statement checked by multiple people (on this forum as well), and everyone loved it. So really not sure what's going on. Maybe one of my recommenders threw me under the bus (though I really really really doubt it...I was pretty close to both of them)? Sigh.vasiok wrote:I'm optimistic![]()

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
I'm sorry Silver; I was hoping there would be an evident reason (e.g. felony) for why you might have been WL'ed but it really sounds like you should have been accepted. Write a great LOCI and make them question their own reasoning - best of luck.SilverE2 wrote:Haha, I have absolutely no criminal record. How long is it taking everyone to receive their letters? I am normally 2 days away from D.C. via USPS stamped mail...however, it's the holidays AND I understand that they are sometimes waiting days and days to send the decision letters out. I was DR on 11/24 and really hoping to get something when I return home this weekend, but I'm not getting my hopes up!

Have rejections/deferments also received emails, or only waitlist? What about acceptances -- any emails there?
Also, I am an ED, 167/3.72, still UR as of 11/24 --> trying to figure out what to make of this...
Have any EDers received acceptances already?

Afaik, nobody who's been accepted has received an email. I haven't, at least. I also don't think any EDers have heard back, but I could be wrong on that. It's just what I'm remembering from this thread. Hth & gl.painsinmysides wrote:Have rejections/deferments also received emails, or only waitlist? What about acceptances -- any emails there?

Some EDers have already. Mostly have been acceptances/WL. Not that many decisions have gone out.thalassocrat wrote:Afaik, nobody who's been accepted has received an email. I haven't, at least.
