I applied early January and got accepted in February..cant be truly rolling I suppose.nyskidude wrote:HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!![]()
I just noticed something on the USC status checker page:
"The Law School admissions process operates on a rolling basis. Meaning, we begin to make admission decisions before the application priority date. Applications that are completed by February 1 receive priority review."
I was complete 10/14, and have yet to go into review. I'd hate to see what people who DIDN'T get priority review are going to have to go through.

Anyone have any information/advice about the USC waitlist? From what I've found on this site, supposedly the waitlist is relatively small and not necessarily the end of the world if you're on it, especially if you demonstrate interest and a commitment to USC.

How long did it take for people's statuses to change from being in review?

There was only a week between when my app went complete and DF. I never saw it IR.

they said that it fluctuates year to year. last year they admitted 150 ... but they said the year before they took virtually no one.msch0i wrote:Did it say how many they tend to take off the WL each year?katalatriste wrote:i just got a waitlist packet in the mail. according to them, they maintain a wait-list of 400-600 candidates. relatively small i guess... lol but they do encourage people to send over locis consistentlyDionysus wrote:Anyone have any information/advice about the USC waitlist? Lots of people have been complete since October and been in review for well over a month. You're safe for now, I'd say.unknownscholar wrote:im resolved to the belief that they will forget about my app entirely. been in review for over a month. complete since november. yes.

Yeah I didn't have the waitlist letter to be too encouraging. They're basically saying sign up if you want. It's a crap shoot.katalatriste wrote:they said that it fluctuates year to year. last year they admitted 150 ... but they said the year before they took virtually no one.msch0i wrote:Did it say how many they tend to take off the WL each year?katalatriste wrote:i just got a waitlist packet in the mail. according to them, they maintain a wait-list of 400-600 candidates. relatively small i guess... lol but they do encourage people to send over locis consistentlyDionysus wrote:Anyone have any information/advice about the USC waitlist? Has anyone heard anything about merit scholarships (other than Rothman)? I filled out that financial e-mail they sent out, but I haven't heard anything about $$.

Although, I would have waited for financial aid info from USC, especially considering his UNLV scholly has a top 1/3 requirement.
I was thinking about doing just that, Sauer Grapes, but I realized that even if USC gave me a full ride (highly unlikely), I'd probably end up going to Boyd anyway. It's mostly a matter of being interested in a very specialized portion of generally untaught law (Gaming law) and the networking opportunities available if I stay in the town I want to practice in.
USC is a great school, and for any of the usual career paths (a less specialized area of law, west coast biglaw, whatever) it certainly would have made more sense. I've just realized I fall into a very specialized niche, within a very particular market, and USC doesn't cover that very specialized field particularly well. That's no failing on USC's part, no one else does either (except Boyd).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
