Got my acceptance package today! Does everyone get the PI brochure, or was that because I applied to a PI program?
Also, who wants to write my financial aid essays for me??? Anyone?

Anyone interested in swapping the financial aid essays and doing some quick edits? I could definitely use another pair of eyes to proof-read these before submitting them today.

PM sent. Since the supplemental form with the essays is only available on the admitted students site, do students who are admitted after March 1 have no chance of receiving merit aid?

Re: Northwestern 2010
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if admitted after March 1, you have 10 days from your decision date to complete the financial aid supplemental form.gmichaelbluth wrote:Since the supplemental form with the essays is only available on the admitted students site, do students who are admitted after March 1 have no chance of receiving merit aid?

This is an annoying, self-centric post but if anyone is feeling charitable....
I got a 170 in February, 3.63 from NYU, 1 year experience at a government law agency. I can send the nu application today and drop everything and drive into chicago for an interview tomorrow. Based on numbers you've seen admitted/wl'ed is it worth my time/money or am I going to be an automatic deny?

As far as I know/hope - that is correct.seamonkey wrote:Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if admitted after March 1, you have 10 days from your decision date to complete the financial aid supplemental form.gmichaelbluth wrote:Since the supplemental form with the essays is only available on the admitted students site, do students who are admitted after March 1 have no chance of receiving merit aid?
Anyone left from the pre-Dec. 1 crowd?

Re: Northwestern 2010
I applied late October and still haven't heard back. Though my interviewer kept pushing back our meeting, and our interview wasn't held until early January. So even though my app and everything else was in their office by late October, my complete date isn't until 2/1.jfonz wrote:As far as I know/hope - that is correct.seamonkey wrote:Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe if admitted after March 1, you have 10 days from your decision date to complete the financial aid supplemental form.gmichaelbluth wrote:Since the supplemental form with the essays is only available on the admitted students site, do students who are admitted after March 1 have no chance of receiving merit aid?

Do you think not having been admitted/rejected/held at this point is indicative of anything? Feeling better or worse about your chances? Same?alabamabound wrote:Yes.jfonz wrote:seamonkey wrote:gmichaelbluth wrote:

Complete pre-12/1 over here. I wish I had any idea how this affects my chances. I hesitate to speculate.alabamabound wrote:Yes.jfonz wrote:seamonkey wrote:gmichaelbluth wrote:

Particularly considering what seems like a fairly high number of "hold" decisions that have already gone out.Complete pre-12/1 over here. I wish I had any idea how this affects my chances. I hesitate to speculate.

I want to say they generally prefer 2+ years WE, but with those #s I think you have a shot. If you really want NU, go for it. Also, LSN would def give you a better idea of your chances than I could.becauseimaddicted wrote:This is an annoying, self-centric post but if anyone is feeling charitable....

Re: Northwestern 2010
EDIT: Forget what I said here earlier. Now both places on the website say 5 days.KidLogarithm wrote:gmichaelbluth wrote:Since the supplemental form with the essays is only available on the admitted students site, do students who are admitted after March 1 have no chance of receiving merit aid?

Also, does anyone have a realistic guess as to when those who have already submitted financial aid applications will start hearing offers? Or will everyone who sent their forms in by today hear at the same time? If that's the case, I guess it could be several weeks from now. I did a little searching for what's happened in past years, but didn't find good info. Thanks.

Re: Northwestern 2010
Submitted my scholly essays this morning. After putting them off for most of the weekend, I actually ended up feeling pretty good about the finished product. I still can't help but think that people with 175/3.8 are going to get all the money and people with 172/3.6/lame work experience aren't, but hey maybe the essays will make a difference. GL all.

That's weird, i see where you came up with that.eas331 wrote:Not sure where you saw that, KidLogarhithm, but this is what it says under "important dates" on the main page of the Admitted Students Website:KidLogarithm wrote:gmichaelbluth wrote:Since the supplemental form with the essays is only available on the admitted students site, do students who are admitted after March 1 have no chance of receiving merit aid?

if you click on the financial aid section, the very same sidebar says five days.
