Hey guys, I got the call today too!!! In!

I actually missed the call, called him back and left a message. Then I saw their Berkeley tweet about not calling back, so I called Dean Tom again...they might think I'm a stalker, but I still got in!

Lots of whiskey to celebrate tonight

My status checker is not updated. Earlier on in this thread, another poster mentioned that Dean T told him that the status checker would not be updated for several days for the new admits.

Thanks! I'm very excited; I love the camaraderie that crosses school boundaries here

For those interested, I sent my normal 2 page PS to Berkeley. I thought this would probably hurt me, but thankfully it doesn't seem like it did.

Just curious, will the online status checker tell you if you app has gone to the student review committee? Or does it just say "under review" the whole time until a decision is made?

No, no other notification. Dean Tom said they would send emails in a week or two, I think. So definitely call him back! I was glad I did.

I think both apply, but when he told me that on the phone he definitely meant that I - as an admitted student - would also receive an email. Though I actually think all he said was an admission packet and a change to the status checker would be forthcoming.

Reportedly, you receive an email notifying you that your file has been sent to the review committee, which by the way is comprised of faculty with students only in an advisory role.

An RD person got in with lower numbers than those, actually, although they were URM, HYP, and received a graduate degree.

I'm NYU ED, so that 169/3.81 person gives me hope. The letters are going out and now I'm having a heart attack on multiple fronts.

Haha you have to imagine me saying that with tears rolling down my face cause before I joined TLS I thought my numbers were pretty spectacular!
