I got accepted on 12/18, but was told that they were not sending out acceptance packets until January 4th. I just got mine today via Fedex. I'm sure you'll get it soon.

I mailed in my financial aid form in the week between Christmas and New Years, and today got an email confirming that Duke did, in fact, receive the form. Part of the email:

This email is to confirm our receipt of your scholarship application form. The scholarship committee will begin to review scholarship applications in mid-January, and will notify you of their decision via US mail.

Good luck! I applied last week, when I sent out a wave of applications. Harvard is my technical #1, but it's a school I applied to just to show my dad that I couldn't get in. Duke is my #1 that I actually have a chance to get into, however small it might be.

Has anyone noticed if movement happens more on Fridays or Mondays than in the middle of the week, or does it seem to be dispersed equally throughout the week?

My status checker went to File under review on 12/7, then changed to 12/23, now 1/6. Anyone else's under review date change a bunch of times? I wish I had been invited to apply priority track...

Mine updated once after going under review. I got a decision a few days later, although I was PT. I think it just means that another person looked at your file.

Some schools are very rigorous about deciding on files in the order that they were received. I don't believe Duke is like this. It seems like they'll hold certain files forever and then maybe extend an invitation to interview... My basic point is that while not being immediately accepted at some schools may not be a good sign, I think with the way Duke operates, it's not nearly as much as a bad sign. I think they simply think about certain files for significant amounts of time and feel no pressure to decide spontaneously. Because they do have a PT track, this probably allows them to do this more than other places; they let the autoadmits in quickly and providing them time to really consider the splitters and the more iffy cases.

+1 on everything...Duke is honestly about my top choice and I would LoOoOve to get a generous scholarship...I hate that TLS has so many duke-haters

Just got an email from Dean Hoye: I'm in JD/LLM in intl/comp law. 170 (Dec. score mixed with two prior low 160s scores) with 3.99. Decent softs.

How does Duke issue decisions? My status checker updated from under review 01/04/2010 to 01/07/2010 sometime today - does this mean that they have made one? I am PT btw.

Not exactly forever, but long enough to make me anxious. I just want SOME change in the status, not even a decision, but even just an "under review" would make me happy.
