I think every non-Mordecai scholarship is called a Dean's scholarship. also do you think it was more than, less than, or what you expected?pointplace wrote:Got Scholarship info today, Dean's Scholarship (3.9 168 KJD)

Agreed completely with both types of people. Duke/Duke Law can boast "a US President" among its alumni ranks, but they're not going to namedrop Nixon (though it's not as if they would try to deny the association either).TexasENG wrote:I always kind of wonder what schools think about infamous alumni. And every school has people that are just batshit like Miller that the school probably hopes everyone just ignores

Received scholarship today, a little stingy. I'm pretty disappointed as I have received more $$$ to schools with a better ranking. I'd really like to go to Duke, how soon is it okay to begin the negotiation process?

I think duke does that because they're located in a low COL area. so 100K at Duke >>> 100K at like, NU or Michigan.SilverSurfer2020 wrote:Received scholarship today, a little stingy. Honestly Nixon seems pretty sane compared to whatever is happening right now in the White House.AtSomePointItMatters wrote:Agreed completely with both types of people. Re: Duke Law School c/o 2020 Applicants (2016-2017)
This is the case. A 80k scholarship goes farther at Duke than 150k at say Penn. The cost of living in Durham is amazing, its great. As far as Nixon goes, we are only 1 of three law schools I believe with a President-Yale Harvard and Duke. While Nixon might not be the most well-regarded Prez, at least he isn't the worst any more! Also, by all accounts he was a great law student when he was here. His problems much later in life didn't necessarily materialize here from what some professors in the know describe.proteinshake wrote:I think duke does that because they're located in a low COL area. so 100K at Duke >>> 100K at like, NU or Michigan.SilverSurfer2020 wrote:Received scholarship today, a little stingy. Feel free to pm me any questions you have. But it is easy to get caught up in something like well Penn gave me slightly more money, so Duke is being stringy. No, Duke usually gives out pretty generous offers and knows its cost of living is significantly lower than most other t10 law schools.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
