Re: University of Pennsylvania Law School C/O 2018 Applicants
Waitlisted via status checker. they said to respond to their email but I haven't gotten one from them:
The Admissions Committee has completed its review of your application and would like to offer you a position on our wait list. Though your application is impressive, we are not in a position to offer you a seat in our entering class at this time. A hallmark of Penn Law is its small, intimate community and it is important that we maintain this environment; thus, we are exercising caution in the number of admission offers we extend at this time. We will not begin the review of wait listed candidates until mid-May. Please consider our invitation to stay on the wait list and respond to the wait list email that has been sent to you. Thank you for your patience during this time and best of luck with the remainder of the admissions season.

Waitlisted via email... and immediately withdrew so that I don't take up a space on the waitlist. I hope it all goes well for everyone who will be enduring the wait this year!!!

Dang good job Nick Halden. Way to keep on top of it.
So now that I'm on this WL I'm going to be a bit obsessiveness. Historically, has there been much movement on the Penn WL? I'd say no based on what I've seen on mylsn.info.

Thanks ticklemesilly! Unfortunately, WL movement doesn't look promising (at least based on previous cycles). This is a different cycle and things have been weird all around, so anything can happen. In any case, you don't lose anything by staying on it. Good luck!ticklemesilly wrote:Dang good job Nick Halden. Way to keep on top of it.

You're too kind! TLS is a treasure trove of wisdom and data, particularly on T14 admissions. I've had a lot of fun with the Penn Law process this cycle so I'm enjoying learning more about it as we progress. Objectively, there's no downside to staying on a WL. I feel like this question got lost in the WL/ding #decisionfriday, but does the Penn status checker have a "seat deposit" under fees regardless of admission decision a la UVA?

Officially passed over? I was certain I'd get a decision one way or another today, even with the relatively recent UR2 (2/20), but it looks like I'm still in limbo.
Congrats to the admits, my condolences to those disappointed, and good luck to my fellow applicants in the twilight zone!
