Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Always and Falling or anyone else who may care to answer,
I was wondering how you folks felt about the idea of me going to visit. I have been accepted to George Washington and was planning on visiting in January or February. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to plan this visit during Georgetown's guided tour on 2/15 or whether I should just go out before then and let them know I'm interested in a tour. Do you think this would help or do you think this would be overstepping for someone on "held." Thanks so much.

This is a question you asked 2 days ago and the answer to it:
hohenheim wrote:No, it doesn't. My checker is still at UR2 on 1/7 and I just got the letter today.az21833 wrote:does it say DLS when they mail out that tiny white envelope
I'm excited to go to the open house in a few weeks! I know this was posted earlier, but what is the timing for scholarships and a big admissions packet?
I don't understand. Why are you asking again?
Please, please, please read the threads you are posting in. The other question you asked was also answered on the last page.
People on the page directly before this one are referencing a "mailing sent" in their status checker prior to receiving their admission/denial - so it appears the initial answer was incorrect (or more accurately that the same thing does not happen for everybody) and I was attempting to clarify. What is the problem with that exactly? Please stop harassing me everywhere I post if your not going to helpful, just ignore me, I am not hurting anybody.
ETA: it looks like it was a simple misunderstanding regarding change in status vs. change in mailings in the status checker. That is why i asked again and it has now been clarified for me. That is the exact purpose of forums like this, to help one another.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
Sorry if we confused you about this. The status still just says "Application Completed", but a date (with no description) showed up in the "mailings" section of the status checker the day the letter (at least in my case) was sent.az21833 wrote: People on the page directly before this one are referencing a "mailing sent" in their status checker prior to receiving their admission/denial - so it appears the initial answer was incorrect (or more accurately that the same thing does not happen for everybody) and I was attempting to clarify. Weird. I just got a 1/14 update (2nd post-interview) that wasn't there this morning, or right before lunch, or about an hour after lunch... sigh.flops89 wrote:Anyone else get a 1/15 update?

Just curious about all of the 1st,2nd, and 3rd updates thing. I had my interview on Jan 3rd, but my status checker only shows "Complete 1/11"...I don't see a list of updated information. Am I in the right place? lol

Is Application Complete the same as UR for GULC? I could have sworn I was complete last week but now it says my current status date was on the 14th.

The status will remain "Complete" but the date will change. When the a new date is shown for a third time it means a decision has been made. When they mail a decision, a mailing with no title will show up on the left side of the status checker.Octaviankid wrote:Just curious about all of the 1st,2nd, and 3rd updates thing. Had my second update today. Is there been a pattern for how many updates applicants have received before getting a decision?

Can anyone confirm the bolded? Does the UR3 date coincide with a DLS/decision?SmokiestFawn7 wrote:The status will remain "Complete" but the date will change. YMBNH, if you go back through the last 67 pages, you'll see that the pattern has been fairly consistent. If you had an interview, it's usually 3 updates post-interview and one pre-interview. If you're a super-duper, 99th percentile, auto-admit it might just be two updates. Otherwise, 3 updates total.LRGhost wrote:Can anyone confirm the bolded? Re: Georgetown c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013)
I can confirm that there are three complete date updates AFTER first complete and then a couple days after the last one a letter magically appears in your mailbox. Status checker always stays at complete, it does not tell you your decision or that a decision letter has been sent or any of that goodness.LRGhost wrote:Can anyone confirm the bolded? Just got an interview invite. Obviously I'll read through the thread about this, but is there a consensus about what the implications are?

Usually that you're a borderline candidate. At least it was for me last year. I had the interview and was accepted less than two weeks later.flops89 wrote:Just got an interview invite. Obviously I'll read through the thread about this, but is there a consensus about what the implications are?
