So, I finished my application on Jan 6, received the e-mail that said Michigan received my application materials, but I still haven't received the e-mail with the UM ID number and status checker URL. It's only two days over the "about a week" they said it would take. Too early to start worrying about it?

Took me almost 4 weeks. But mine was definitely an anomaly.

Anyone know based off last year how long between the "we're still undecided about your application" email before applicants get answers? Thanks

I haven't been following this thread very closely, as it's a pretty big reach for me, but does it seem like their dipping lower than usual GPA-wise to maintain LSAT medians? Or to rephrase it, tell me I have a chance.

You have a chance bud. I was deeply below their median and I got an acceptance letter earlier this month.

Nice to hear, and congrats on the acceptance. I applied on the later end of things, but still relatively early. I think C&F issues might end up boning me but I can only wait and see.

For some last year it was later that day they heard, for others it took weeks. There's really no timetable.

mine updated today too! $25,000/year. Not a Darrow but that's still about 1/2 tuition so I am VERYYYY happy. First $ of the cycle!!!

Is it just me or is the status checker not working again? Just checking to be sure.

Mine is not updating for today, and it seems others are having the same issue. The system is either having problems again or they're about to accept all of us.

I am pretty sure it updated yesterday too, but I wouldn't commit to that. I only say it because I check my status multiple times a day and I don't remember anything abnormal about yesterday.

Anyway, did everyone's status update today? And to the posters above, I'm guessing it eventually updated?

Took me a week to do, but that's what i did. I thought of sending it to Dean Z and to the admissions email. I decided to do just the admissions email and had a response 20 min later appreciating my continued interest and that it was added to my file.

And you're not a deferred ED applicant? You just got sick of the wait?

No i was deferred from ED and was sent that email about sending more info if i have it, they are still looking at me, etc.

I just signed up to take the February LSAT to try to raise a 167--is this something I need to let admissions know?

I'm sitting at complete still and Michigan is my dream school. I really don't want to mess up the application process.

I'm tempted to ask them to consider my application with the 167, but try to use a hopefully higher score for a scholarship boost if I get in.

I'm also retaking in February and asked them to hold my application for that score. The response I got was that they won't hold the applications and might still make a decision, but they are willing to reconsider your application if you email them about the new score with a request for reconsideration.

No, definitely can't speak for all schools. Michigan is the only one that has given me that response. Most of the others have been willing to just hold onto my application and will review it once the score comes in.

Its automated. All info put in today will show up tomorrow. Thats why people get acceptances on saturdays and never on mondays.

If I haven't received an update today (stuck on 1/15 still) does that mean that I'll likely get a decision today? Or tomorrow?

Last year many of the top schools were actually still accepting applications into the summer trying to find people who may have upped their scores on Feb and even June LSAT. I heard rumors that schools like gtown, mich, NU, et al had were taking kids in as late as August 1st. so you never know now
