Their women's rowing team is one of the best in the country.

I was on the Men's team in Undergrad. As far as a club team, michigan and virginia are two of the best.

There are a few varsity men's teams in the country, Wisco, Harvard/Yale/Princeton, Cal, Washington to name a few. A lot of people don't know this but rowing was actually the first collegiate sport ever played.

UVA and UMich haven't been able to compete in nationals because they actually started beating them on the water. The AD's for some of the varsity programs said if their teams can't start beating the club programs from UMich, UVA, etc, then they will become club as well aka no more funding.

Anyway, back to when we will all start to hear from these schools? also, i know Harvard has a Law Student rowing club, anyone know if UVA does? I'd love to continue rowing back in LS.

Kicking club teams out of IRA kinda sucked, but ACRA made things better for the club team I rowed for in undergrad.

As far as law schools, at least out of the T14, Harvard is the only one I've found with a law school team. (Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.) If you want to row during law school, best bet is to find a loca rowingl club to join.

Sorry to interrupt your discussion on sports.

After browsing the stats on lawschoolnumbers, I feel that UVA probably will have a higher LSAT median than Michigan this year. What do you think?

Probably.

Last year, UMich was 169 and UVA 170.

Been sitting at UR since 11/19. Submitted a pretty convincing (or so I think) Why UVA two weeks ago. Never heard a peep.

I do think they care why you want to come. It's definitely a good idea to research the schools you're applying and submit a relevant reason for your interest, imo. I did this for most of the schools I applied to. The UVA dean talked about my reasons for coming on the phone.
(And I don't know if this makes a difference in their eyes.. but I submitted the Why UVA the same day with the rest of my app... instead of adding it on later). But I think later is better than not at all. It's good if you can make is specific to UVA somehow, doesn't have to be anything brilliant. GL to you guys.

Got the call last week. Surprised by the speed and generosity from UVA, in with $75,000! Didn't write Why UVA.

seems it was the year before that also. So, this year should be no different.

I have just had zero response still. Not SOL but I've heard of lots of people writing their WHY UVA and getting admitted the next day or next week

I would say that's more exception than rule.

An LOCI is not a magic bullet.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
