they always come out at 5 - 5:05 PM Central, and the twitter always updates to say when they're sent. If you have their twitter open in the background, every time there's a new tweet, the tab title will change to show (1) like Gmail.thelaststraw05 wrote:I wish they would either give us a specific time or not tell us until it was actual happening. On twitter, johann says 70% of AJD applicants will get their decision. So then JD will be another small batch? What do you guys think?

It was a question mostly meant to imply that 70% sounds like a denial or denial + waitlist kinda number... not an acceptance kinda number.rs2004 wrote:that would depend on how many people applied for ajdthelaststraw05 wrote:What percent gets accepted?brokenwindows wrote:On twitter, johann says 70% of AJD applicants will get their decision. i don't know about you guys but i'm just done getting my hopes up for an answer from NU. it's been over 10 weeks, i've been on this ride more than i can count and every time i think this is the day, it ends up not being so. i'll check twitter and TLS every now and then but that's gonna be it.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
This is probably somewhere on this thread, but I was wondering... how critical is the NU interview?
I'm a strong consider for NU on lawschoolpredictor, but seeing as I am an undergrad applicant, I'm not sure this is accurate, as NU seems to prefer those with WE. However, I do have lots of WE in college/over the summers (lab research).
Anyway, I applied a week ago and am flying to NU for an interview in 2 weeks. Does anyone know if I have a decent shot at NU, or am I just too late?
Thanks... and best of luck to those of you who have not heard back yet!!!

Admits = 46
So a little over 34% were admitted last year.
70% seems about right for rejection + waitlist.

FWIW, I got in without an interview and without optional essays. But something like 75% of applicants interview. For a borderline candidate, it probably is close to a requirement.jrose5 wrote:This is probably somewhere on this thread, but I was wondering... how critical is the NU interview?

NU's preference for at least a year of WE is even closer to a requirement. I believe the numbers are something like 98% of the matriculating class have 1+ years post-UG WE, and 85% have 2+ years. The 2% of NU students (5 or 6 students in each year) who get in without WE need to have something pretty extraordinary (4.0/177/incredible softs) going for them, and even then NU will sometimes defer them, saying "go get a job, come back next year, and we'll give you this sweet scholly".
Your numbers are better than mine, but I have 8 years WE, and that's a big deal for NU. I also applied in early November.

Congrats on NU! I suppose I'm glad I requested the interview then. It's a lot of money and I had to reschedule a test AND a paper due date because of it, but NU is worth it.

Re: Northwestern 2011 Applicants
FWIW, I received such an offer with numbers that are definitely not extraordinary (see LSN profile). Good, but not extraordinary. And I consider my softs to be only above average, if that. I did have an on-campus interview that I felt went very well.rinkrat19 wrote:FWIW, I got in without an interview and without optional essays. But something like 75% of applicants interview. The only reason I say this is that I almost didn't apply, beacuse I knew I was gunning for a deferral spot, but I still didn't think I had a chance. I submitted an app sort of on a whim, and I'm obviously glad I did.

If you're coming directly from undergrad the interview is your opportunity to show them that you are mature which is what work experience brings - maturity. Be able to articulate why you want to go to law school & why NU. Good luck
