Re: Fordham 2011
I was complete in December and have had one date change in 2/22. No movement otherwise...I'm wondering what I should do in case I don't hear anything from Fordham by next Wednesday. I am leaving my mailing address for almost two weeks (spring break) on Wednesday. This is probably not long enough to ask them to send to my home address...right?jtgnyc wrote:anyone complete from November with no decision?

Re: Fordham 2011
Jumping in with a personal anecdote: I was complete November 16 ('09) and had no decision as of this time, last year. I had reached out to Dean Brown a couple of times and he was very receptive and very honest. For those of you who are in a similar boat - complete before December 1st of last year, still no word - I might suggest a BRIEF email to Dean B, asking if there's anything you can do to reinforce how much you want to come to Fordham/convince the Admissions Committee that you'd be a great fit for the class of 2014/2015.
I know Fordham's process can seem long and frustrating, but I promise you: they really ARE taking their time putting together great groups of people, great CLASSES.
The Evening Division this year is an incredible group of people - I will miss it (and many of them!) so much next year, when we all go our separate ways - and I know that it is the result of the time and effort the A.C. put in, creating the Class-As-A-Whole.
Best of luck to all of you - this is the HOME STRETCH!

So then I'd take it you'd endorse clinging to the WL if one really wants to attend school in NYC?nygrrrl wrote:<3 you too and cannot wait to meet you - I seriously love this school more, with every day that I'm there. So if I got a scholarship email today that was only talking about the stafford loans (saying "we're pleased to offer you the full subsidized/unsubsidized amount"), does that mean I'm not getting any need-based aid?

Re: Fordham 2011
Well the thing about Stafford is their awesome low interest rate. Receiving merit or need-based aid leaves you ineligible to receive this loan. So I'm trying to figure out if a low interest loan is better than a need-based grant.maglialoro wrote:they actually sent an email telling you that they are pleased to offer you the opportunity to take our 20k in loans?Gemini wrote:So if I got a scholarship email today that was only talking about the stafford loans (saying "we're pleased to offer you the full subsidized/unsubsidized amount"), does that mean I'm not getting any need-based aid?COME ON FORDHAM, FOR REAL??

My need based grant came with info about the loans I can take, so probably not.

Stafford loans are federal loans and are thus are a fixed rate.

Subsidized= no interest on the loan. But it's a max of $8500, I think.
