Waitlisted today by email--complete around 11/25, 3.8, 169. They're pretty extremely noncommittal with the waitlist: "you could hear on the first day of classes!" Uh...

That's kinda like Vandy bragging about being one of the most expensive law schools.twelda wrote:Waitlisted today by email--complete around 11/25, 3.8, 169. They're pretty extremely noncommittal with the waitlist: "you could hear on the first day of classes!" Uh...
Vandy: We're really expensive!
UCLA: Oh yeah? Well, we make out WL wait until AFTER CLASSES HAVE STARTED. Beat that!

Schools say that but I want to know, do they ever really do that?twelda wrote:Waitlisted today by email--complete around 11/25, 3.8, 169. They're pretty extremely noncommittal with the waitlist: "you could hear on the first day of classes!" Uh...
I picture a guy sitting down for the first day of classes at Loyola or something and then getting a call on his cell from UCLA... "Excuse me, I have to take this!" - and never returning.

Just sent an email to Dean Schwartz asking if I could apply for a travel stipend to visit for the March 14th ASD.

I guess if you're on UCLAs WL and want to attend, wait until the last possible moment to pay tuition at loyola/usc.

Rest assured. It was YP. I would practically bet money on that.Gotti wrote:YP x 100000moxiepostulate wrote:Waitlisted.

Got an email today. They told me a UCLA law student will call me tomorrow at 5:30PM to entertain any questions about student life. I'm kind of impressed by how much UCLA is trying to sell itself...

Waitlisted! I'm kinda excited, though, because that's the best I was hoping for from them.

Touche, but I haven't vented my frustration in 20 seperate posts. And I would submit the tone of my lone post was considerably less whiney.RJ127 wrote: ETA: And originalmutt, you quoted Gotti and got on her about patience, but you posted something almost identical in the USC thread. Like I said, the impatience happens to a lot of people on the forums...
To clarify, I'm not saying that the wait isn't frustrating. (Trust me, I want an answer just as much as everyone else) I'm just agreeing with what the other poster said: that there are more productive ways to rechannel that energy than whining over and over. And the wait is the price you pay for a thorough review. They get thousands of applications and they can't read them all at once. If it increases my odds
of being accepted into UCLA, I'm happily willing to wait another month.

Oh man, I was so expecting a WL in my email inbox after reading this post. Still in limbo. Sorry for the blatant YP Moxie, Penn got me and I'm expecting UCLA/USC and maybe Michigan to follow suit.moxiepostulate wrote:Waitlisted.

I got a call around 8:16pm eastern time from a CA number and let it go to voicemail bc I was on the phone with an old friend.
The voicemail was from a Robert Schwartz asking to call him back, which I did within the hour but it was too late and I got an automated message.
I am......SO MAD at myself right now

WL by e-mail. Meh, UT's acceptance call the day before took out most of the sting, but still no fun.
Congrats to those who got in!!

If you get a random call from California, tell the friend you'll call em back in 5 minutes!silverlake33 wrote:I got a call around 8:16pm eastern time from a CA number and let it go to voicemail bc I was on the phone with an old friend.

Re: UCLA? 2011
I'm on the east coast so the possibility of a school calling that late didn't occur to me.
I checked the area code (310-825-4321) after I hung up the phone and THEN my heart dropped when I saw it was CA.
But yeah....I'm calling now.
