Does UVA let in anyone anymore that didn't ED or live in state?

I think it's really tough. You have to have the numbers and probably a strong or interesting application. Their RD cycle has been crazily unpredictable. I think the ED thing is unfortunate, because it's going to discourage a good number of qualified people from considering UVA as an option, even if they really want to attend.

i honestly have absolutely NO idea how i got into uva. i was RD, applied in january and only with a fee waiver, never lived in virginia, never visited, and didn't write any statements or comments about why i want to go there. and i have a 168 lsat. if i didn't hear jason dugas say it to me on the phone, i swear i'd be sure it was a mistake.

+1. All of the above except I have 166 LSAT.

I'm thinking they may need high GPAs to make up for ED numbers but are avoiding people with both high GPAs and high LSATs because they don't have the scholarship money they figure they'll need to lure them. Or maybe they just really loved our applications, that would be nice :)

Yeah, that LSN chart is wild. Makes me respect schools like Berkeley that aren't afraid to just cut loose the people with no shot.
