Of course not--they could submit lists of admitted students to one another maybe once a month or something. I doubt it happens, but it's not totally absurd.tram988 wrote:It is absolutely ridiculous. Ok so BC waitlists or rejects applicants that have been accepted at BU? Doubt it. You really think BC calls up BU to ask if each individual applicant has been accepted to their school?BenJ wrote:

I'm sure they have neither the time nor inclination to do so. I doubt BC cares whether an applicant got into BU-- if they are wanted by BC they will be accepted.krispykitten wrote:I'm in at both, sorry to burst your bubble.BenJ wrote:Of course not--they could submit lists of admitted students to one another maybe once a month or something. I absolutely think its possible. Just think of the practice of YP which is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. But apparently schools think that the advantage they get from it in terms of their yield is worth it.BenJ wrote:Of course not--they could submit lists of admitted students to one another maybe once a month or something. So, considering that BC and BU are virtually indistinguishable in almost all aspects, I think it absolutely possible that there is some form of coordination between the two.

Maybe the logic fail here is thinking, "WTF?! I have a 166/167 and BC hasn't accepted me yet? The AUDACITY! There must be a freaking conspiracy afoot!"Xiaolong wrote:Logic fail.krispykitten wrote:

It was just amused speculation on Cupidity's part (and my own). I don't think conspiring would be a bad thing for applicants in this case anyway, so I don't see why you're so worked up about it. It almost certainly doesn't happen, but it could, and if it did, it would be pretty easy for the schools to pull off. Of course, BU and BC are much more likely to try to poach each other's strong admits rather than cooperate on admissions.Burger in a can wrote:Maybe the logic fail here is thinking, "WTF?! ah ha! this explains why my clearly superior application was held at BC but accepted at BU!Xiaolong wrote: I absolutely think its possible. Just to note, though, BC does send mixed batches, so don't get too wrapped up in the comparing numbers game (like I was a week ago).

Any check this out? Data from 2008:
"Making big jumps this year in their positions among the top 20 go-to schools were Boston College Law School, ranked No. 15 this year and No. 20 last year, and the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, which was No. 6 this year compared with No. 11 last year. Boston College Law School sent 45.8% of its 2008 graduates to NLJ 250 firms, compared with 36.8% of its 2007 graduates. Some 62.6% of U.C. Berkeley's 2008 graduates took jobs at NLJ 250 firms, compared with 53.7% of its 2007 graduates."

I'm sure this has been asked before but my status checker date for "Complete" updated to today's date. What does this mean? Thanks (I'm guessing it's a bad sign)
