Re: Michigan c/o 2020 applicants (2016-17)
Hey all! I've been sitting at complete since October, above both 75ths. Would it be worth updating with a Why Mich? I would only go to Mich with substantial scholarship, so I'm thinking there might not be a point; if the Why Mich would make a difference between WL and acceptance, surely they wouldn't offer much scholly right?

I asked Cornell to match the scholly I got at Mich and they did. Cornell has a higher COA then Mich, however they only matched the scholly, and didnt give anything more.
Would it be possible to get Mich or Cornell to bump up their schollys with a full ride from WUSTL? Would Mich bump their scholly just to beat Cornell?
Both schools said their decision was final when they notified me

What's your current scholarship for Michican/Cornell? Probably not on the WUSTL front unless you have a very minor scholly from Cormell/Michigannerdylsat wrote:I asked Cornell to match the scholly I got at Mich and they did. Very unlikely you'd be able to negotiate up with WUSTL with that amount in the bag already IMO. Maybe worth a try thoughnerdylsat wrote:Current scholly is around $$$ range (70k - 90k). Above both 75's I'd expect to be accepted with no money. They will have to assume you'll just go to CNN if you are that over qualified. If that's not the case, I would say to write a Why Mich, that could be the difference between no money and 150kharmcharm wrote:Hey all! I've been sitting at complete since October, above both 75ths. Besides my going complete e-mail, I haven't heard anything, but I also only submitted my app on 1/3, so not that long a wait.
Edit: Actually I take that back, they sent me an e-mail requesting additional info on my in-state tuition eligibility.

Is it a thing that Michigan sends out their decisions in the middle of the night or has that just been a coincidence I've read a few times?

I don't know when it's due, but it's rolling so you should probably fill it out as soon as you can.Kangaroo_Court wrote:When is fafsa stuff due? I'm terrified I'm going to miss the deadline
Edit: By that I mean I was always under the assumption that you don't want to submit it too late and risk your school running out of money to give you.

Until when do schools, Michigan in particular if anyone knows, continue accepting students? March? April? If no one's sure I'll just search through last year's Michigan thread and find out. Thanks!
