Birdlaw I just perused your current acceptance and rejection info and you are getting the short end of the stick badly right now. Yeah, I'm pretty confused to be honest. My recommenders showed me what they sent, and they were both very strongly worded, well written, and talked about accomplishments and obstacles I've overcome. I get phenomenal feedback about my personal statement from every person I've shared it with. I really don't understand what's going on.Po$eidon wrote:Birdlaw I just perused your current acceptance and rejection info and you are getting the short end of the stick badly right now. I should also point out that the GPA schools see is lower than in my profile, so that might account for some of the discrepancy with your expectations, but knowing my own stats and speaking to people we're all kind of perplexed by the results I've been getting.

What do they see? Did you write an addendum? Your profile GPA should prob be your LSAC GPA tbh because that's all that matters.BirdLawExpert wrote:Yeah, I'm pretty confused to be honest. At the very least I've gotten considerable scholarships from the schools that have accepted me, so that's reassuring.

Also, I can understand Penn but Cornell needs to sit down. Are you below their GPA floor?

Yeah, my addendum is succinct but doesn't try to make excuses. I showed it to a family friend (the only lawyer I know) who used to do admissions at a T14 school and he said it was pitch perfect.Po$eidon wrote:What do they see? Did you write an addendum? If they have a GPA floor, it's possible and makes sense because I was rejected by them before I heard from anywhere else. I spoke to someone at admissions before submitting though, specifically about my poor GPA, and they didn't mention it, so that's a waste of $$ I could have spent on another application. I'm definitely below the GPA floor for another top school, but they said that my military background would negate that qualification. I'm a weird applicant, for sure, but I guess I thought I had a better idea of what was going on than I actually do.

Military too!? Idk what to say. It must be GPA floor: you are a verrry extreme splitter.BirdLawExpert wrote:Yeah, my addendum is succinct but doesn't try to make excuses. I'm former military and an even more extreme splitter. I haven't heard back from the large majority of the schools I applied to, and now this has me very worried.Po$eidon wrote:Military too!? JS1 12/15. I was about to give up after they didn't call me yesterday. Really surprised to get the call today at the gym (really a good way to use that adrenaline). Anyone know how to get to the admitted student facebook group? Thanks!

Me, too. I'm hoping they'll get to us in the beginning of February, if the trends are similar to last year...oliverotis wrote:Yep, with competitive numbers and good softs, too. Bummer.anonymous92 wrote:Others with a November JS1 who haven't yet received a JS2?

I know this doesn't directly relate to your question regarding JS1 dates-->JS2s, but I looked on LSN and last year there were really big waves of acceptances on 2/2, 2/3, and 2/4 so I wouldn't worry.Schneidersbetter wrote:Sames. That of course doesn't mean that I didn't spend hours and hours yesterday miserable and thinking that HLS must have decided to set my app on fire.

I guess we just need to focus on the things we have going for us. For example, I didn't punch the bursar. That must count for somethingHildegard15 wrote:I know this doesn't directly relate to your question regarding JS1 dates-->JS2s, but I looked on LSN and last year there were really big waves of acceptances on 2/2, 2/3, and 2/4 so I wouldn't worry.Schneidersbetter wrote:Sames. Checked out the HLS entering class on Facebook and there's only 56 people so far. how many do you think they're actually accepted, considering that many haven't joined?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
