I can't attend ASW. Does this "fuck up" affect employment prospects in 2018? If it's just scandalous shit like some faculty was caught selling cocaine, then I don't care. Could you PM me if it's important?qlinault wrote:Since the administration has gone to such efforts to keep this off ATL, I'll respect that and won't air their dirty laundry on the forums.LawsRUs wrote:whoa!!

I'm sure there are some details I'm not aware of, but I have yet to hear anything that would make this something that should play a significant role in your decision of where to attend, and I find it weird that anyone is in this thread talking about it as though it is.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
I don't think it's necessarily an issue of whether or not this plays a significant role in where we decide to go; but when making the biggest financial decision of our lives up to this point and something is brought up in a vague manner it becomes concerning. I have no idea what happened, but I would be lying if I said that the vagueness of what was brought up and the comments of people possibly transferring out because of it doesn't cause some sense of concern. As long as it doesn't affect my job prospects I could care less about it, but the way that it has been talked about on here made it seem much bigger than it probably is.hoos89 wrote:I'm sure there are some details I'm not aware of, but I have yet to hear anything that would make this something that should play a significant role in your decision of where to attend, and I find it weird that anyone is in this thread talking about it as though it is.

Re: WUSTL c/o 2018 Applicants
Since nobody with better knowledge about this seems willing to say anything other than vague hints, and because it is clearly concerning some people in here, I will tell you what I've gathered (disclaimer: I'm a 3L. This is all stuff I've either been told 2nd hand or seen by reading through some threads). 1 professor reused an old exam (last year's exam), and 1 professor pulled questions from a supplement. I've also heard rumblings about "the administration" and some (unfounded?) rumors of cheating re: last year's exam. This is something that can and does happen at other schools pretty much every semester (law professors are lazy, who knew?), so it shouldn't really play into the decision of which school to attend. From what I've gathered, it was a huge PITA for everyone involved, so the offending professors have hopefully learned their lesson, and for what it's worth this is the first (and second) time I've heard of something like this happening in my time at WUSTL. The fact that people are transferring over it is dumb, in my opinion.

Oh, lol. That's not nearly as Armageddon as this thread had me thinking. I'd half been expecting you to say a professor went on a rampage kicking puppies and throwing law students from the library roof.hoos89 wrote:Since nobody with better knowledge about this seems willing to say anything other than vague hints, and because it is clearly concerning some people in here, I will tell you what I've gathered (disclaimer: I'm a 3L. Spite? The damage (if any) has been done.santoki wrote:what is the thought process behind a student's wanting to transfer in this case?
I've heard rumblings about the administration mishandling it? I can't expound on that, though (because I don't know any more than that).

Ya doesn't make sense to transfer unless it's to T14 or peer school with regional placement in a region you want to work. Regardless you lose all scholarship and pay sticker for your last 2 years. Sorry but I'm not taking on upwards of $100k to get away from something like that.hoos89 wrote:Spite? Transferring out of spite sounds like the dumbest fucking thing. I mean where are they transferring to? If it's T6 or HYS, then great, but if I were them I woulda transferred anyway. If not, it's like a lateral transfer. Even transferring to GULC sounds dumb. Lateral transfer is dumber.
