Re: Berkeley c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
I wrote a 4 page PS and still am expecting a ding because of my numbers. Oh well, if Berkeley and USC both go the wrong way, I'll probably just retake and try again next year. I really want Berkeley...

Re: Berkeley c/o 2016 Applicants (2012-2013 cycle)
has anybody submitted the optional scholarship interest form?
there were only 4 check boxes for (ie cal undergrad athelete, severe financial need, blind etc.) so i didnt cehck any of those. but now after i have submitted, it is showing "no" for ALL the scholarships even the merit based ones that did not have a checkbox. Do i need to call them about this? Did this happen to anybody else?
Sorry for freaking out i just wrote a special essay just for this so this is quite annoying.

Went under faculty review 1/24 with a lot of you. Thoughts on when we'll receive decisions (if it'll really be on/around 2/15 or earlier)?

That's what the consensus seems to be...gingerbreadsmouse wrote:Went under faculty review 1/24 with a lot of you. Thoughts on when we'll receive decisions (if it'll really be on/around 2/15 or earlier)?

Is sending a LOCI bad manners if you're in FR?

not sure if the answer is buried earlier, but what's the difference between being "In-Review" and under Faculty Review? Is FR like an advanced stage of review or a tie-breaker stage or smth entirely different?
thanks!
thanks!

It appears to be some sort of 2nd round..99.9luft wrote:not sure if the answer is buried earlier, but what's the difference between being "In-Review" and under Faculty Review? Is FR like an advanced stage of review or a tie-breaker stage or smth entirely different?

I think if you didn't insta-rage quit like worm that shows enough continued interest on your part.iMisto wrote:Is sending a LOCI bad manners if you're in FR?

This actually happened to me as well when I submitted my form and I sort of freaked out.... After emailing everyone in Admissions (I attached my essays to the emails just in case), I heard back from Dean Tom and he said he'd put a tracer on my email and get back to me ASAP. I think we're overthinking it, but it's better safe than sorry. I'll let you know once I hear back from them. Glad to know I'm not the only one!az21833 wrote:has anybody submitted the optional scholarship interest form?

Sounds like this will happen to everybody then, which address(es) did you email and do you think its necessary?emr2012 wrote:This actually happened to me as well when I submitted my form and I sort of freaked out.... I just heard back from them and they confirmed that my form was in fact blank (didn't process attachment). Their IT team is looking into the problem and troubleshooting it so that this does not happen to anyone else. I would recommend emailing Dean Tom (his email is in the admit package) just to let him know that you encountered this problem as well - he'll know what you're talking about.

Thanks, this is extremely helpful. So best just to email Dean Tom directly?

Shntn, aren't you faculty review? At least FR has a shot and a date to look to. It's the inevitable dings hanging in limbo that is the real travesty. Unless that's what you're also talking about.shntn wrote:mcs268 wrote:Berkeley, JUST GET IT OVER WITH. Damnit..

yea from what I can see hasn't it been determined that if you are not currently under faculty review, then you're out?BigZuck wrote:Shntn, aren't you faculty review? I don't think so. From what I have heard there will be another faculty review once this one is complete.apinarba wrote:yea from what I can see hasn't it been determined that if you are not currently under faculty review, then you're out?BigZuck wrote:Shntn, aren't you faculty review? Just got admitted a little while ago via email.
Had been sitting on a late-November UR. No mention of FR or anything.
Weird.

You got me so excited because I am also sitting on late-Nov UR with no FR. Then I checked my email. Nope.

Did you get an email last Friday (or ever) with a subject line of "Berkeley Law Application Under Review," even though your status checker went UR in late nov?

Thanks! And no -- literally radio silence since I went UR (besides that financial aid email that everybody got).
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
