afaik, very few RD people have heard from Penn, though it is my understanding that they traditionally admit people in waves on Fridays.

the fact that a good amount of people are having the 1st UR today leads me to believe that Penn has made their decision on those with 2 UR dates...so why waste time Penn, you can pick up the phone and call today...there is no big diff between thursday and Friday.

I hope so. I'm just hoping Penn overlooks the flaws within my application (there are quite a few ;/) and likes my numbers . Seems as if even numbers-driven NYU is ignoring me.

I would guess around a month or so. Ever since Columbia showed me no love, I'm pretty much set on Penn.

Their asw is the same day as uva's asw and their preview day is the same as NU's ASW.

Seems they have their committee meetings on Thursdays, then give the decisions on Fridays.

No one know for sure, but they do explicitly state on the status checker that every application is reviewed twice---> 2 UR dates

No one know for sure, but they do explicitly state on the status checker that every application is reviewed twice---> 2 UR dates

Ah, okay, thanks! I didn't catch that in the status checker. Interesting. I guess it's unlikely that I'll get a decision for a while then, huh?

Some people have gotten in with only one, but most get two.

They're notoriously protective of their yield. They tend to like people with 3.8+ and between 169 and 172.

That said, in deference to their yield, they show some splitter love.

The 3.8 barrier is not absolute though. People definitely get in with 3.7x it just gets dicier. I got in in the first round, granted with a 3.79, but still way under their GPA median.

The 3.8 barrier is not absolute though. People definitely get in with 3.7x it just gets dicier. I got in in the first round, granted with a 3.79, but still way under their GPA median.

Yes. It's not a floor, just a preference as I said. Penn has a really high median GPA. It might be their way of cleaning up on the admits with lower LSATs who might be less competitive at CLS/NYU because of their predilection for high LSAT scores.
