Well I guess it depends what percent of TLS students who lurk on a Columbia admissions thread you think would be admitted to a school with an (eventual) acceptance rate of around 16%. Personally I think the adcom might have just gone through the most obvious rejects or admits in this wave and will tackle tougher cases soon. That, or given the extreme drop in applicants, the adcom has decided to strategically WL a lot of people to prevent having too low of a yield or wonky medians, like UChic and Penn might be doing for yield protection.FryBreadPower wrote:Is it just me or does it sound like there are far too little people who HAVE GOTTEN VCEs YET?

Not trying to beat myself up but I am a statisticsl ding and my PS/softs are good but.... Come on! Could I seriously be in?
I guess not an outright ding, but below median lsat

Should we all just collectively mass censor our posts such that Columbia doesn't realize there's an issue WITH HOW SAD WE ARE ABOUT NOT GETTING VCEs YET and won't check through to see who could and could not plausibly have BEEN SO HAPPY TO GET A VCE? Seems like that or just accept that what's done is done and hope they realize we didn't do anything maliciously.

Confused... they already can check who logged in, because we have to give all our personal info. You think if we mass-edit this thread, Columbia won't realize that their system allows this method and therefore won't check?JustE wrote:This. Regret doing so now..

I think we should just hope that they have a sense of humor like Dean Z's reaction to Michigan's ASW phenomenon. If they're actually the type of school to turn down someone they had previously decided to admit just for the simple act of checking the status of their own application, then it's probably not a good match for me (and most of you, I imagine).

I don't think the problem is entering your info into the enrollment form - I think the issue is how you got there. That is, with a password that only today's VCE recipients should have. It's not like the password was designed to be top secret or anything, and I agree, I hope they react the same way Dean Z did (if they get wind of it at all)... but still, it is eerily similar to (and I think in some ways, worse than) that HBS incident.splbagel wrote:Confused... they already can check who logged in, because we have to give all our personal info. I mean, I don't know what you guys did, but I just had an admitted friend check for me. I totally didn't utilize a super secret password.sailboat wrote:I don't think the problem is entering your info into the enrollment form - I think the issue is how you got there.
