What was the deal with that blog post then? As far as we know they only accepted another 3 applicants after that. Why the big announcement? There must be SOME acceptances coming...

Re: Columbia 2010
I never understood the whole "You should just ED this school" thing. Isn't the whole point of ED to apply to a school that you love more than any other school? I know it gives you a boost but I could never see myself EDing somewhere just because I thought it would get me in to a better school. That's just me thoughHelmholtz wrote:Yeah, thanks for validating my terrific ED choice, jerkwad.talibkweli wrote:i'm sorry man, but no worries you're clearly a lock for a top school. you probably would have gotten into nyu ed had you gone that route.

Nah, I was being sarcastic. If I was playing my ED card strategically, I would have gone for Penn or NYU. But I ED'd at the school I really wanted to go to. No regrets.wackjickham wrote:I never understood the whole "You should just ED this school" thing. Isn't the whole point of ED to apply to a school that you love more than any other school? Exactly what I was saying, and I'm sure you'll end up at a great school.Helmholtz wrote:Nah, I was being sarcastic. If I was playing my ED card strategically, I would have gone for Penn or NYU. Just checked my mail, nothing yet. I'm starting to wish they would just get it over with.
Save me one of those bumper stickers, too. I think I'll be needing it, especially since I didn't even apply to HY or Penn, and Cornell's admission's office seems like it was taken over by this guy:

Yep. +3 and, while it's no consolation at this point I'm sure, I think I speak for all of TLS when I say "Fuck Columbia" on your behalf.lsathalon wrote:+2, my sentiments exactlyylc wrote:+1, I wasn't sure quite how to say that myself.psychomohel wrote:Really sorry to hear that helmholtz. Um, you said on the Optimism thread that you got into YLS. So, in my mind, you're in an even better position than if you had gotten into CLS.Helmholtz wrote:Seriously, though, good luck to the rest of you guys, I'm sure there are going to be at least a couple of you that makes it.

Another ED applicant checking in. Just got my deferral in the mail dated 12/11. All things considered, I think it's as good as I could have expected. Good luck to the rest of you.
I haven't been following this thread as closely, but any idea what percentage of ED applicants got accepted, rejected, or deferred?
