Mine was super super relaxed. No need to be nervous. We met at a Starbucks and just chatted. I was trying to play up my strengths and the interviewer stopped me and said "you don't need to sell yourself to me. My purpose in being here is to sell Georgetown to you." She said she can't guarantee I'd be admitted, but said that being contacted for an interview shows they are very interested...
I got my acceptance letter a week and a half later.
Thanks so much and congratulations!!! I couldn't decide whether getting an interview was a good or bad sign (basically wasn't sure how borderline I was)

I also had a great alumni interview, with great feedback from the alumnus and was told essentially the same thing about him being there to make Georgetown look good. However, I was wait listed about a month and a half after the interview.

Came home to find my acceptance letter and holiday card in the mailbox! Submitted 12/6, logged onto ASW site 12/21, letter was postmarked 12/21 as well. Was pleasantly surprised to see a handwritten comment about my optional essay at the bottom.

Checking in! Complete 12/7. Group Interview Request 12/15. No action since then :( Is it too soon to expect any type of decision or change to my application status?

I applied for both at the end of October. Accepted PT 11/25.

I second this. It appears that most that get in after the interview know within a few days. I interviewed on 12/23, by the way.

Is gtown's open house the same thing as preview weekend? It's so early, they must have another event in March or April. I want to go, but I also don't know if they have other stuff coming up that would be more convenient to go to.

I'm pretty sure I saw a few accepted student weekends on the admitted students website in March and April

Oh you're right, they have a bunch of stuff coming up. I guess this is the first one.

I believe it's the same thing. As far as I'm aware they have two: 28-29 Jan and 31 Mar-1 Apr.

It seems like they also have Admitted Student days just on some Fridays for people that can't attend either open houses in March or January. I would rather go to the one in March, but other schools have it the same weekend...

Nope, last year they started the scholarship process in February and they are set to follow a similar timeline this year, per my communication with them!

I think the answer is no, but is Georgetown offering any sort of financial assistance for the January open house? It's sort of last minute, so flights are expensive!

Nope, the only assistance is that you can stay with a current student to avoid hotel costs.

Just got the follow-up email from the admissions office, is anyone going to the Open House later this month? Apparently they want us to RSVP by Friday.

Ughhh it's so soon, I'm torn but leaning toward yes. Don't think I can go to the other one.

Pretty much my exact thought process. Hopefully there's some info on the ASW about lodging discounts or something.

Not knowing all of the ASW's that may lie ahead I want to get Gtown checked off the list. I'll be there! Just bought a train ticket :)

They have a ton of ASD dates listed on the admitted student's site! I bet they have to because it's such a big school.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
