So I went through last years thread and saw there was a group of decisions released Friday, April 17th. Maybe this week for those of us then that are still waiting? Unfortunately, I think most, if not all of them, were waitlists/rejections. Sorry for that slightly morbid outlook, but just trying to keep my expectations in check.

Thanks for researching and sharing. I've been expecting a hold or ding since applying, but it's pretty shitty to have to wait 4+ months for bad news when there have been plenty of hold/reject decisions for people who applied after me that they could/should have included me in if a hold/ding were to be the end result -___-

What did it change to? I've been at complete FOREVER.

Well, it still says complete, but the January date is no longer the latest one there haha.

Northwestern was my top choice before this whole process started, but I have been completely turned off by the way they have handled the application process. Not getting my decision within the 8-10 week timeframe, tweets about decisions that never end up happening, not receiving a fee waiver despite people with much lower numbers getting them, etc. There is no excuse for taking three plus months to render a decision at NU.

I must say, from the decisions taking forever to whenever I've called the admissions staff acting like I'm completely inconveniencing their day, Northwestern might take the cake for the worst admissions experience I've had thus far

I think just about every t14 school has a group of people who feel the same way for the same reasons. I don't think NU is any different here.

Had a date change on the 12th after 4 months of nothing. Hmm maybe they just found my application and can now prepare the heavens for a glorious ding

Alright, so for those on Hold wondering about the "hold essays", I did the video interview using the Kira link that had been emailed to us and the essays were indeed in the same portal. You'll see them after you begin the interview. In my case there were two essay questions requiring written responses and two regular video questions that you can record responses to.

Do you think it is beneficial to keep contacting schools who have not told you anything yet? To let them know you are interested even though you aren't even on the waitlist?

I have no idea. I was more referring to setting up official visits, info on where to send additional documents, etc.
