Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
these decisions make me feel like a loser for submitting so late, haha.
just got the complete e-mail. looks like that status will be sticking around for a while?
angels2fly, i wondered about that too. like you, i got a waiver pre-Dec lsat, no PT, and i never did get a PT invite even after the score jump. i suppose that would be kind of an awkward gesture, though. "hey so we have this thing we didn't let you know about before, because at that point you weren't good enough, but now, numbers!"

Just got UR2 on Wednesday. Went complete 12/2, UR1 early 12/something, UR2 1/22. Would be so thrilled to get an accept! Hoping to see something soon
. Any sense on how UR2's indicate when a decision may come out?

Yep, I am RD. Numbers are 177/3.8+. I would be incredibly thrilled to go there. Hoping for a positive decision! What is the usual timing between UR and decision?SplitMyPants wrote:I didn't realize Duke had a UR2. Also, are you RD?pokemonsters wrote:Just got UR2 on Wednesday. Anyone else expecting a PT decision sometime between now and Sunday? If so, did you get an updated "Current Status Date" recently?

Cool. I was wondering if they would bundle us together or something, potentially for a Saturday notification. I was hoping for tonight but that looks less likely at this point. All speculation on my part, but to me Saturday makes more sense than Sunday. Good luck!

Midterms? What midterms?
Duke has a lot of data on it, so I made some graphs. As usually, URMs are excluded. There was almost enough data though to make some nice URM graphs as well, so if you've left that point blank, you should fix it!
Enjoy! Good luck to everyone still waiting!

The graphs don't all fit up. This is because some people don't put all the info in. You aren't going to be identified because you said you have average softs, people, fill in the spreadsheets.

Re: Duke c/o 2017 Applicants (2013-2014 Cycle)
Hey Priority Reserve here. I was placed on PR about a month ago. I am currently trying to write a LOCI right now, but i am having trouble. I don't have any of the traditional information for an update: new grades, new job, award, etc. I am tempted to write a Why Duke or Why Duke centered LOCI.
I am now UNLEASHING the questions:
1. CAN/SHOULD I send the admission committee a Why Duke instead of a LOCI?
2. If NO to first question, is it appropriate to write the LOCI sort of as a Why DUKE? And if so, to what extent?
3. How long should it be? 1 page max.?
4. If Duke is A top choice instead of the ONLY top choice for me, how strong should I word my interest? I don't want to undersell myself because there is a really high chance that I would attend Duke especially with $$.
5. Bonus: What are the chances to be admitted off PR.
Even if you do not answer any of my questions, I would to thank you for sparing a couple of the minutes that you could have spent on satiating the urges brought on by the admissions process, to read my post.
If you can answer any of my question I am informing you that you will earn my everlasting respect and fealty. If you answer all four questions seriously as I deem it (loophole closed
) than I will name a star after your usnername http://www.starnamer.net/. As we all know on TLS, this practice bestows great luck upon the cycle of the TLSer who is granted the star.
Thanks!
